World of Goo-d news for Europe
Nov 12th 2008 10:44AM (Joystiq Nintendo)Wii Warm Up: Dead Rising (again)
Nov 9th 2008 11:43AM (Joystiq Nintendo)What is wrong with Capcom? They weren't shy of supporting the Dreamcast, Saturn or Gamecube. Why not more optimized (all original) Wii games? T
Wii is 'most expensive board game on Earth'
Nov 8th 2008 8:01AM (Joystiq Nintendo)I don't quite know what to think of this.
First, he started that "board game" statement with "I think on one hand..." which doesn't make it come over as an insult.
Then he mentions that people might "graduate upwards". Not the optimum choice of words as "graduate" has a positive ring to it, as if it's a good idea to move on from (the poor) Wii to the superior other consoles.
Why, of all the companies, is a SEGA guy telling this? They had some great success on the system. (M&S @ Olympic Games, lightgun games, Secret Rings) and have two much anticipated Wii games in the pipeline.
This reminds me a bit of Reggie taunting Monolith Software via his Disaster: DoC comments
Tatsunoko vs. Capcom boxart will look fantastic on no American store shelves

Disaster: Days of Nobody Buying It
Nov 5th 2008 5:08AM (Joystiq Nintendo)Some might get this in the wrong throat, but especially Wii gamers seem to sit around all day and wait for the commercials to come knocking on their door.
Looking for information about games is so easy nowadays. Within 5 minutes (no hyperbole) any gamer can gather enough impressions, gameplay bits and screenshots. Gaming site mamberships, youtube or nicovideo are free, to name just a few examples. Most sites also offer release lists.
I'm rather disappointed by my fellow European gamers.
Were are the so called "hardcore" gamers now? I'm not calling out the families that got the system for Wii Fit and Wii Sports (not their job to get the game).
I'm calling out the people that got Zelda, Resident Evil 4, Smash Bros and Mario Galaxy on the first day and are constantly complaining about "no new hardcore games on Wii". (Of course this doesn't count for gamers that either can't afford it or don't care for the action genre)
TGS08: Sonic Unleashed and unbelievably cool
Oct 10th 2008 1:00PM (Joystiq Nintendo)November will be a good month.

Oct 10th 2008 10:02AM (Joystiq Nintendo)Wii Warm Up: Plugging it in
Oct 10th 2008 10:00AM (Joystiq Nintendo)I am not really in favor of using the USB port or Gamecube Controller sockets for this, as they might get cut in a future hardware revision. I know that Nintendo stands for backward compatibility, but still...
Virtually Overlooked: Castlevania Bloodlines (Genesis)
Oct 10th 2008 5:11AM (Joystiq Nintendo)This is one of the Castlevania games I played long after Konami changed the overall forumla. I have no idea why I didn't play it back in the 16bit era days, not enough money and too many other good games perhaps.
Thanks to this article, I want to play it again.
I also feel it's among the best Castlevania games, in pretty much every aspect aside from the graphics. (blame Konami, not the system; check out at Ranger X stages 2 and 3 for similar themed, yet way better looking graphics).
The skeletons look kind of goofy in this one. Was this intentional?
Tatsunoko vs. Roll
Oct 9th 2008 4:39PM (Joystiq Nintendo)Classic Roll is fine, Marvel VS Capcom 2 also had a mix of Classic and Legends characters. And I just like her better.
