The flood would be the worst.

Halo 3 info leaked: new weapons, vehicles, features & Collector's Edition detailed [update 1]

Alex,

I agree that those shots do not look that good. On the plus side the shots are using "placeholder" objects and many of the textures and lighting are missing. This is pretty common with a game in the Alpha stage.

Jonah Falcon,

I am totally stealing that for use elsewhere.

The really sad thing is many of those games look pretty good. There was no reason to present false visuals.

Exclusive PS3, 360, and Wii games compared

B33,

Relax, I think your getting a little to emotionally involved in this. Unless your name is Kojima and you never change your mind, you could be wrong. Times change and so do plans. If the 360 has an impressive install base why not port the game. There is nothing wrong with porting a quality game to other consoles to increase revenue.

As someone pointed out earlier the only sure fire games that are exclusive would be Sony's first party offerings.

Your taking lumps on this forum for no reason, just except the fact that the list you have is probably not 100% correct.

Since when has WarDevil been announced as an exclusive. Did I mess something.

Xfire is "complementary" to Sony's PNP service

What I don't understand is why Sony doesn't try to buid some steam showing their on-line component. Why wait, any chance to quell some of the doubts should be a goal for them at this point.

I have my own suspisions about this, but I think that this should a valid question for anyone who is looking to purchase the PS3 for its on-line component.

1UP urges us to buy, not steal

Oct 3rd 2006 5:33PM (Joystiq)
Wow,

Nothing like a little circular logic and rationalized theft to finish off the day.

Theft is theft regardless, and it's not like we are talking about needing to steal bread to survive.
This is entertainment and low cost venues exist to see if a product is good enough to purchase (renting).

Anyone who steals this stuff is nothing more than a lowlife scumbag.

End rant.

Mark Rein says second-gen GoW on 360 looks better than first-gen PS3 titles

Oct 3rd 2006 2:21PM (Joystiq)
phranctoast,

actually if you read that what you linked, it talks about how when the 360 was coming out they had not had much time with the dev kits, and that comparitevly developers have had more time with the ps3 kits in relation to release.

Reading comprehension is a harsh mistress.

Mark does seem to talk out of his a$$ quite a bit, I have to admit that the ps3 release titles are looking good, but I think that part of that is due to the delay from a spring release. Even if the release was probably only going to be Japan, the developers for all of the "release" window games recieved a 6 month bonus on development time.

Xbox 360 joins HD DVD tour

Nice. A little love for Colorado, as much as I dislike the whole next generation format wars, it still might be fun to look at the new toys.

Video rundown of the 360 peripherals

CLShortFuse,

Actually the Blu-ray is currently using the MPEG2 coding whereas the HD-DVD is using the VC-1 coding. There have been many reviews about the quality difference and the blu-ray running the old codec is not up to the current quality of the VC-1 codec in terms of picture quality or sound.

this may change in the future but currently the Blu-Ray is not performing at the same level of the HD-DVD.
