Reggie on why used games are not his problem

Apr 1st 2009 11:23AM (Joystiq)
There was an article here a while ago comparing how often games are traded in, and Wii games, especially Nintendo published games, fared much better than the others(I think one company did better than Nintendo, Blizzard probably). So he may know something about products that people feel they want to keep.

Reggie on why used games are not his problem

Apr 1st 2009 10:58AM (Joystiq)
Maybe what he means is that they're not big business, and they don't happen enough to harm book publishers. I really doubt used book stores make as much money as Gamestop does out of used games. The people I know wouldn't consider buying a used book because the saving you make is tiny.

College textbooks are a different story, and that's why they continually update their textbooks to make older versions appear less useful.

Even Wii games not immune to dilution of industry profits

There's been a correction to this regarding Fils-Aime's comment, on their website. Unfortunately though the falsehood will spread faster than the correction.

Wanted's Wanat considers Wii development a 'narrow market' [Update]

How much do you think Guichi Suda's games sold before No More Heroes? Not alot is the answer, Killer7 did much worse than No More Heroes across two platforms. No More Heroes is their biggest success to date, they celebrated it's success.

House of the Dead: Overkill sells 45k in February

Mar 22nd 2009 11:15AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I think you're judging it way too early. By the same metric, house of the dead 2 & 3 would have been considered a failure. However it continued to sell steadily for months and it should reach 1 million at some stage.

10 million accept Wii Play with Wiimote purchase

Mar 20th 2009 7:07PM (Joystiq)
I bought it, and enjoyed it. Every game is fun, some have more lasting value than others. Tanks is by far the best, I love that game. Absolutely worth the $10 more than buying a Wii-mote individually.

Trailer brings Night Game to light

Ah now, people's taste varies. I loved World of Goo and so did everyone who tried it on my Wii, I played alot of it co-op. But at least Bowser only paid 1000 points for it, unlike the €35 I paid for Chrono Trigger that I felt was a complete waste of money even though everyone online seems to love it.

Anno coming to US on Wii and DS as Dawn of Discovery

Feb 26th 2009 3:36PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Anno 1701 was great fun. Unfortunately, as you made more colonies, the game started becoming inconsistent, the more services you had the less they worked(after a point).

That was the only flaw that kept the game from having lasting value, but it was fun for a long while before those issues became apparent to me.

VC Friday: Pop-Up Onslaught!

Feb 14th 2009 2:04PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I just saw this post and I'm downloading Onslaught now!

Don't stare directly into the Dead Rising Wii 'Maintenance Tunnel' video

Is this our punishment for not buying Zack and Wiki?
