Holy crap, is that ever a nice prize package.

There is no HD mode in the original GoW2, just something that was mistakenly labeled that by some blogs. The game still ran at 480p, just with a smoothing effect.

A lot of SD games, mainly ones that support 480p, actually look a little better on an HDTV. GoW and SotC, for instance.

Ico is not one of them. The game ran at 320x240, half of what even most PS2 games run at. On a modern TV it looks like one of those old realplayer videos stretched up to fullscreen.

Definitely a good candidate for an upgrade.

Ooh, and make it the version of XII with the job system that was never released outside of Japan. I could definitely get behind that.

This is Square, though. They only port things they've ported a billion times in the past, and then they just get TOSE to do it as half-assed as possible.

I thought they were only going to be upgraded to 720p. Why is the video 1080p? Has something changed?

I certainly did. What in god's name are they thinking? There's no reason this thing couldn't have all the functionality of (half) a regular dual shock controller and still do all the motion stuff.

That didn't take long. They were obviously expecting this when they filmed it.

But the new version is much funnier, so it's ok.
