I check religiously. Still waiting for the Neo's real legendary fighters, puzzlers and shmups.

Amazing. A non-KOF game from later than 1995. You know, if SNK needs to generate revenue, they need to get cracking on this Neo*Geo station. They could easily turn this thing into a solid source of money, if they'd bother.

@(Unverified) Uh, he was ALWAYS a child molester. The original films never made much of it, but Wes Craven himself stated in interviews that he was always a child molester/murderer.

@The Pork I believe it's actually on Netflix Watch Instantly. Or do a Google search. I bought a copy of it when it first came out. It's VERY worthwhile. They dug up some folks who were underground for ages, like the actor who played Jesse in NoES2. Lots of great stories from the set and production of every single film. And a few candid notes from Wes himself. Definitely worth your time and/or money.

El Shaddai bumped up a day in Europe, to September 8

I don't know... I tried the demo last night, and while I liked the aesthetics of it, and the idea of a game based on the Apocrypha is definitely new, the actual game seemed kind of dull. Platforming was flat-out unpleasant and combat was repetitive and shallow... but worst of all, it seemed to be devoid of consequences for dying.

Will the actual game have more than two weapons to steal from enemies? I'd like to be proven wrong on this, as it seems to have a lot of potential.

@mund0x The PC version (you may as well just call it what it is: the pirated arcade dump) does not contain Billy Kane, or whoever else they elect to include.

Zelda sold well in June, Child of Eden and Shadows of the Damned did not

@Lucky48: Honestly, I have played neither game. My money's been tied up in surprise bills this month (don't you just love those?). My point remains, though. Shadows of the Damned looks interesting, if not a little bit juvenile and silly. What puzzles me is that people would rather play a dolled-up port of an old game than something that's new... even if it's just new to them (ie. something they simply haven't played before, rather than strictly being a "new release"). Ocarina of Time was a good game, but I'm certainly not out to purchase a new handheld and spend $40 or whatever 3DS games cost for a game I've played before.

In truth, I suspect the economy plays a large role: money is hard to come by and even harder to hold onto. Since people are hesitant to spend, developers are hesitant to take risks. The last risk Nintendo took was Metroid: Other M, and we all know about that.

Don't get me wrong; I understand wanting the sure thing. I just wish it didn't come at the expense of creativity.

And yet, people complain about remakes and wonder why game developers never put out anything original. Hint: it's because people would rather buy regurgitated nostalgia trips than take a chance on something new.
