Any time I've played Halo online, it's almost never without someone spouting curses at someone or other... usually with a racist or anti-gay slant.

This kind of thing is why I don't play multiplayer. Most people are complete douchebags if you give them any measure of anonymity, and unless I know the people I'm playing with, my annoyance level quickly overcomes any enjoyment I might be having. The last time I played multiplayer and had fun was a Legendary run on Halo 3.

Judging from the commercials, which give an impression of very dynamic and rapid movement, it's less an issue of dated controls and more one of false advertising. I enjoyed and completed RE4, back in its time, but I couldn't even bother with playing RE5 past the first few minutes. I'm just really over the control scheme. It was a novel improvement in RE4. Nowadays, it's just a ball and chain.

Call me crazy, but I'd rather a game be fun than "purist."
