New Wii games to be shown at convention in Germany

Jul 18th 2006 9:57AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
party summer over here.. you forgot the loveparade

the convention is like a small e3 that is rather dedicated to the public gamer and has more possibilities to play the shown games. around that there are several shows, a fun-sport area etc.

or as they describe it (www.gamesconvention.de):
"The one for everyone - the one and only.

The latest games, the best hardware, exciting infotainment and edutainment, fun sports areas, shows, premieres and celebrities - for four years now, all this has made the GC into THE event of the year.
Its concept is unique and extremely successful: on the one hand GC Games + Entertainment with out and out entertainment and hands-on experience in the halls, and on the other in the GC Business Center, the right sort of quiet atmosphere for doing business. This all-in concept is rounded off by the separate GC family section where it's all about learning on the computer and media literacy, and also by the GCDC, the international GC Developer Conference held in the run-up to the fair.

They all come to Leipzig for the GC: the industry, developers, retailers, the public and the media.

You too are invited: don't miss out on the event of the year - be a part of it all when the word goes out in August: PLAY!"

New button revealed on Wiimote

Jul 17th 2006 12:15PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
maybe a walkie-talkie-push-to-talkie-button.. or just a piece of plastic that covers up another mysterious slot.. hopefully a button to give the other players an electric shock.. or a little sponge to dry your sweaty thumb
however if it really turns out to be a button it will be for something u hardly ever use ingame (just to say something clever.. obvious.. but clever)

Weird slots on Wii gamepad

i know u felt uncomfortable to post youtube videos.. but in this case i guess you could have prevented a lot of useless "its the z button" posts

i thought to know that the vc controller was at the same time a shell for the remote - like that wavebirdlike shell they showed a long time ago, before wii was wii

Kojima loves analogies

yeah i learned a new voc!
ps3 = percussion (more possibilities than u need)
360 = drums (sounds good.. in the background)
wii = airguitar (most fun.. and everyone can play it)

Ed Boon on Revolution controller

mk never stood for good gameplay and now i know why: that boon is one narrow-minded ed.. the thing is u dont need a "bunch of buttons"

Miyamoto: Twilight Princess uses Revo controller

Mar 16th 2006 2:52PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
nintendo already stated that the 3d sensor stuff isnt backward compatible. i guess zelda will be the only cube game using it,
and i dont think the game will take full advantage of the freehand controller. for example if u cant decide if u wanna swing the sword low or high with the gamecube controller, u probably wont be able to do so with the new controller, either.
greatslacks mini game theory is also possible. just like u could use a ds for hints in wind waker.
anyway its a cool gimmick and will make zelda sell even better.
