Review: ModNation Racers

May 6th 2010 8:54PM (Joystiq)
The long load times aren't that big of a problem so long as the actual gameplay is as stellar as everyone is saying... Day one purchase for me! Hopefully they patch for load times after release tho. And if the long load times are only when moving b/w menu items... even less of a problem.

GDC09: The Agency and DC Universe Online coming 2010

Mar 24th 2009 7:41PM (Joystiq)
The last they discussed, they were leaning away from a monthly fee... but pricing had not been finalized. But yes, it is a non-fantasy mmo where your class has to do with what type of agent you are, and you can change it throughout gameplay to fit different scenarios. In addition to gadgets, you collect specialists at your home base that add some interesting customizations to gameplay. A VERY interesting online game...

GDC09: The Agency and DC Universe Online coming 2010

:-( I did really want The Agency to be out this year... I knew DC Universe would not make it until next year though. Hadn't heard anything about The Agency in the last year though, so I figured it had been pushed.

How to set up and play The Eye of Judgment

Sep 29th 2007 10:16AM (Joystiq Playstation)
@#2- Acually, regular card games play out slowly anyway... so this is no different from that. If anything, the animaions that are brought to life liven up the slow gameplay. Card based games are like a more complicated type of Chess match... it's a game for thinkers & strategists. And for those type of gamers, I'm sure they'll love this game... I know I will. I plan on building a killer deck & dominating online!

TGS07: GT5 Prologue to have five tracks

Sep 25th 2007 7:12PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I look at it like this... I would gladly pay for the first level of GOW3 if they released a demo of it today instead of the typical 1 month before release (which will not be for at least another 2 years)... I'd pay for a FFX III demo too knowing that the game is at least 1 yr away.

But that's just me & I fully understand that most ppl frown upon the idea of paying for what is essentially a demo. (although in this case, it's more like a 'lite' version of the final game)

TGS07: GT5 Prologue to have five tracks

Sep 25th 2007 7:04PM (Joystiq Playstation)
Well, for a demo... it really does have a lot to offer. I don't think the sales will go very well if they try to get more than $30... but I'd pay $40 if it released after Christmas (and I had all my 'holiday' games already).

Five tracks, 16 player online, and the tv feature all sound worth it to me. And the PSN version is not likely to cost much anyway... the main reason I'm willing to support it is to help balance whatever development costs are needed to make the final game as awesome as possible.

If paying for 'episodic' content on games that still have another year in development leads to better games... I'm not mad at that.

Blu-ray's Pirates of the Caribbean release has framing issues

Sep 3rd 2007 12:50AM (Engadget HD)
This is a straight forward lie. I have both copies of PotC and neither of them have any cropping issues on blu ray. Are these the type of tactics that hd-dvd supporters are stooping to now?

Heavenly Sword demo'd

Jul 26th 2007 7:05PM (Joystiq)
The game is absolutely stunning visually. And yes, it was confirmed that this was from the March build not the E3 build (not sure why we couldn't get the latest build though!).

And I don't know guys, even at this early state the game does give Gears a run for it's money. Really the only part of Gears that looked better was the bump mapping... everything else about HS looks much better. Overall, it just comes off as looking much more beautiful in terms of graphics.

My only complaint is the length of the demo. I WANT MORE.
