@CarmineSaved

It would be cool if they called it the N7, but that would mean admitting Virtual Boy was a legit console.

FFXIII's Lightning being added to XIII-2 in DLC, trailer highlights game variety

@CplCupcake

They announced the fact that there would eventually be some sort of DLC. They did not give any details. We still don't have any details 2 months after the game's release.

It's not like Bethesda said "you can do this, this, and this.... but only if you buy the DLC"

Square, on the other hand, has made it clear that I cannot play as the main character without DLC... again BEFORE the game's release. So my point still stands.

FFXIII's Lightning being added to XIII-2 in DLC, trailer highlights game variety

I'll use Skyrim as an example. If Oblivion and Fallout 3 are any indication, obviously there will be a TON of DLC for Skyrim. I knew this in the back of my mind as I was buying my copy on launch day. The problem becomes all about timing. If they had announced DLC for Skyrim prior to launch then I might have been tempted to hold off until the GOTY edition... but they didn't; they didn't burden me with that knowledge. They didn't tease those things the product can't do before I even get the product and actually start doing the thing that proves to me that yes, this was worth the purchase.

So anyways, I'll get FFXIII-2 when it's finished, months from now, with all the content on the disc. There's plenty else to play in the meantime.

@Roto13

I wouldn't categorize Lightning, the main character from the first game, as optional or unnecessary. Sounds to me like they stripped out a key feature so they could sell you the "full game" for another... what? $10? $20? Point being: they are announcing DLC before the game is even released here. It's just bad form.
