Capcom VP explains RE5 multiplayer development, calls complaints 'BS'
Mar 17th 2009 6:04PM (Joystiq)I understand completely that what I purchased is what I read on the box.
However, what if ALL new cars came with only 2 tires at the same price and required you to purchase two more tires to even drive the car off the lot?
I'm afraid of developers/publishers exploiting DLC, as the afore mentioned car manufacturer did with their new "Tire Upgrage" purchasing plan. I just don't want these DLC practices (SFIV costumes, EA gun unlock, MP modes) to become the norm.
Valve, Bungie, and other companies have been more open and honest about their DLC. Should things continue like this unchecked by the consumers then soon we could be purchasing only a portion of a game on a disc and the ending via DLC.
I agree that some people have resorted to "bitching" and "whining" but hopefully you will see my argument more objectively.

I'm sure more of you would see how Capcom made a mistake here.
Truth is, they should have planned to have this mode in the budget from the get go, because they surely had the idea panned out in pre-development. This is a pure example of how to exploit DLC. I'm not saying they are exploiting DLC because we have to pay for it, merely that now companies can make any aspect of a game a chargeable content.
Don't get me wrong, I love polished add-ons and map packs which add to gameplay and story. However, had Bungie released online multiplayer separately as a DLC they would have used the same excuses Capcom is using here. Bungie wouldn't have such a strong fanbase - they'd have a bunch of whining teenagers posting threats in online forums... kinda like what Capcom has here.
