@Titula LoTR also had almost no magic. Tolkein's works are the starting point for modern fantasy, but they've never defined or limited the genre. Warhammer is nearly 30 years old; steampunk elements have a rich heritage by now.

If it really bothers you that someone in traditional medieval armor could go up against (fairly rudimentary) power weaponry, remember that realistically they ought not to survive a solid blow from a sword or warhammer, let along magical fire and lightning. Gameplay conventions will out.

Waaay better than the totally underwhelming trailer. The CGI mostly looks ok (the aliens are good) but Hal's mask is still really, really fake looking. It looks like no work has been done since the original costume reveal months ago. I hope they do something about that.

Sorry, but you really ought to make sure you have a main healer when you're putting the group together, not *after*. Rogues (bards) are incredibly useful for group off-healing (probably too good, as there are nerfs incoming), but a single bard will typically not suffice as your main healer. Get a cleric or a chloro, or expect bad, bad things.

Optic blasts are kinetic force, not heat/lasers, so the hair would simply be displaced temporarily.

Well, it gets more complicated if you realize this is a bit of an origin collage, bouncing from Pre-Crisis Earth Two Luthor to Pre-Crisis Earth One Luthor (or alternatively, the brand-new Secret Origins) to Post-Crisis Man of Steel/Bryne-era to post-Infinite Crisis and then (back) to Secret Origins. It *looks* like a coherent narrative, but it's retcon city.

Right. If you want actually imaginative uses of a weapon limited only by one's imagination, stick with Kyle. Frankly, a gun is a stretch for a guy who spent 30 years never getting far beyond green fists. So that toy seems perfectly appropriate for Hal.
