Three password apps to protect yourself from trouble like the Gawker database hack

Dec 14th 2010 11:03PM (Download Squad)
Where's the PassPack love? No apps or extension installation required, works great with (or without) a simple bookmarklet. LastPass with its plugins is a bit more convenient as it can automate the password grabbing and using, but for web based, PassPack can't be beat. It is also beautifully designed.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter which one you use -- using any of them, in conjunction with strong and varied passwords is the way to go.

Man, my Beagle was killed by a motorist Tuesday . . . this post makes me sad.

Awe man, they cut that video before it got awesome--the chorus!

Hitting shelves this week [update 1]

The good news is my wife ordered me Metroid Prime: Hunters. The bad news is she ordered it from Amazon a bit late and I am not to expect it until mid-April.

It'll give me something to look forward to, I guess -- been looking forward to it since DS launch, what'll a few more weeks hurt?

Inside the game: La Fuga

I wonder what "torture" means. If this is to be believable, it would have to be excruciating in one way or another, right? I wonder if you get any real-life goodies for enduring the torture -- health powerups in form of booze, please?

NES Zapper plus gyro mouse = Duck Hunt emulation heaven

Actually, Maurik, if I understand it correctly--you don't need a light gun. He just used the zapper for a more familiar feel/nastalgia relative to the game. The only part of the gun actually used is the trigger. Other than that, it's all on the mouse.

While novel, I'm not sure how effective it would be in a fast paced FPS -- between switching weapons and the trigger cramping up your hand, you'd probably go back to your old input devices pretty quick :)

Possible Revolution Interface #13: Revolution is the new Cube

Ungh. People releasing these things are looking for attention, so they'll probably see this. If so, here's my tip: If you're going to design a mockup for the dashboard of a new system, try to make it look -better-, or at least as good as, the last system.

That thing is just plain and uninspired -- if I wanted that for a dash board I'd give my two year old son a box of crayons, some index cards and set him in front of a fan. The result would be the same--unreadable, albeit colorful, cards rattling about.

Lucky me, I suspect he'd spend some time on the surface behind the cards as well, so I wouldn't be stuck with that tired gray background.
