Man Changes Name to "Captain Awesome" -- Which Character Name Do You Want?

Patrick Bateman. Mostly so I could get the business cards and hand them out to people.

Scenes We Love: The Dirty Dozen

Dec 8th 2010 9:55AM (Moviefone Blog)
It's probably because I've been watching this film since I was a kid, but I never noticed any "plot holes and inconsistencies". I'm willing to accept that it's because of the nostalgia factor though.

This is one of the few films I try to watch at least once a year. Oddly, usually around x-mas time.

Lee Marvin is really great in this role. Very convincing. It's no wonder why however. He really nails it though. It's because of his role in The Dirty Dozen that I hunted down and watched some of the other movies he acted in.

I think I would have to vote the training exercise as my favorite part of the film though. I know that it's very lighthearted compared to the rest of the film by a mile, but the way the dozen pull that off impresses me every time I watch.

20th Century Fox Sues Struggling Mom -- Who Do You Think is Right?

Dec 1st 2010 10:08AM (Moviefone Blog)
Fox should have shown they weren't giant mustache twirling villains and sent a cease and desist letter first. Immediately seeking $15 million from one person is excessive. Maybe insert an big OR ELSE into that cease and desist, but at least show some sense of reasonableness here Fox.

Hammer Films' Marcus Hearn on Horror History and Iconic Movie Posters

Nov 17th 2010 9:43AM (Moviefone Blog)
Great read. Thank you. Definitely going to pick up this book. I miss old movie posters. New ones seem great while the movie is "coming soon" or recently released, but by the time the film has been out awhile, there's never anything really left in modern posters. Not sure if that makes sense. It's sort of like, the appeal of the poster only works as long as the film is new. However, some of the older movie posters I have (and want) are still very admirable to look at.

You mean the one with Colbert dressed as Hitler? That's satire.

Horror Movie Songs: Our Top Nine Favorites

Oct 29th 2010 9:43AM (Moviefone Blog)
Love the number one pick. I've always really liked that song. I always took it as a straight song. Never really came off goofy to me. I mean, I sure as hell wouldn't want to be buried in a Pet Sematary.

Not a big fan of "Man Behind the Mask" though. It's from that Alice Cooper period of "dude, what the hell are you doing?". It also doesn't sound anything like any of his other music. The demo recording that uses less MIDI sounds a bit better, but it's still beyond cheesy.

"Ben" is another good one. I think I prefer Crispin Glover's version by a bit, but Michael Jackson's is still really good.

And could "Bela Lugosi's Dead" be considered for being in The Hunger even though it was written for the film? After re-reading the rules I guess not.

Where Everyone Has Gone Before #15: 'The Monster Squad'

Oct 25th 2010 10:09AM (Moviefone Blog)
Yeah, being a kid when you first saw this would have lumped the nostalgia on you. When this came out on DVD a few years back I picked it up and made my wife watch it. She had never seen it. She didn't care for it, and even I was able to realize it didn't really hold up that well. But as a kid, I loved it. I'm sure there are other "kids' movies" that I wouldn't care for if I saw them again so many years later.

Because it's the internet and on the internet the first thing that died was civility.

I do agree with you though. If you're going to be mean about this and throw insults, don't bother posting.
