EA takes on Steam with Origin, the only place to download The Old Republic

Depends on the game. Steam has its own copy-protection system, but it also doesn't restrict publishers from adding another on top of it. Some games on Steam still have silly requirements like an active internet connection or install restrictions.

Ditto, and I've been waiting for a controller with that layout (including convex triggers, thank you) AND motion control built in. For some reason, a majority of controller manufacturers neglect this feature, despite some games requiring it.

Wow, that's crazy. It's $5 now.

And like the other posters, it's easily one of my favorite games of this generation.

Bizarre Creations closes its doors this Friday

What a shame for such a talented developer.

It only took 2 "failed" products (commercially speaking) to take them out.

I wonder how different things would be if the press gave more attention to Blur when it released. Neither racer (it or Split/Second) did well in the summer, and both developers are now suffering.

just Wiiware?

Shame, this looks like a more fun Trials HD focused on party play as opposed to ruthless precision.

XBLA in Brief: Zeit2 [update: controls can be un-inverted]

@Robborboy

They took that feature out a while ago, saying "Does anyone actually use that thing?"

MS just didn't realize how big XBLA would be, both in file size and breadth of content, when deciding to offer that feature.

Vizio 'Versus' offers two-player head-to-head gaming on one screen (video inside!)

@JasonA

Well, manufacturers could just make it twice as expensive, or more. It's a space-saving feature.

I wouldn't like if they did that, but I think they can find some way to release such technology without jeopardizing their current market.

Well, DVDs are 480P, but yeah, the resolution is still low.
