Rumor: Warner Bros. joining 'online pass' camp with Mortal Kombat
Mar 30th 2011 6:45PM (Joystiq)"Movies have a longer shelf life. People still buy Gone With The Wind. Every time there is a new format, movies get remade and bought again. The actors and crews have unions to ensure they don't get fired immediately after a film is made. Companies like Netflix pay the studios an annual fee for the ability to stream online. Physical movie rentals are dying. Blockbuster is going out of business."
Ok In this aspect then because I have Gamefly $14 a month shouldn't I have access to the online portion of a game I am paying for a service which allows me the consumer to rent a game for an extended period of time for a fee. Shouldn't game pubs, and devs incorporate an additional monthly fee that Gamefly would be shipped with an extended online pass lets say 2 weeks.
Therefore everybody's happy people get their money, gamers play online.

Mar 29th 2011 11:00PM (Joystiq)Ok check. You have a family with multiple profiles or live in a house with multiple friends heres the kick in the nuts that online pass has to be bought by each person(profile) on that console.
So the master profile (for instance Dad) redeems code on his profile and the son wants to play later that day on his profile he cant without spending another 10 dollars to play online with his friends so one copy of the game in a single household has to pay for another "server fee" on the original copy
Bullshit

Mar 29th 2011 10:52PM (Joystiq)Internet-40-60 a month
Xbox Live-70 a year or if you get a deal 40+
The game its self brand new 60 which I cant afford or as i do myself
Gamefly-14+ a month which they pay for the game
Now as a consumer to enjoy the game I have to spend another 10 to enjoy ALL the features (online play)
I don't have the biggest wallet in the world thus the reason I take advantage of the rental service and a 2 day pass isn't nearly enough to take advantage of the online feature with work and such or the achievement which I enjoy obtaining
Epic games makes quality games that it will gain a community and doesn't exploit gamers for its money and subpar game either does Activison with Call of Duty they make their additional money off the additional DLC and the community
I think it is a super shady for EA and other to do this and think they only hurt themselves by doing so because there is still a large community against these practices
Monday Night Combat's Assassin will stab you in the back, slap you around a little
Jul 30th 2010 3:05AM (Joystiq)Dude lets be honest what game is really out there that is new and innovative that doesn't take the art and design style of some other game
GH-Rock Band
Battlefield-COD
Bioshock-Metro 2033
