Zagato to build Viper-based Alfa Romeo TZ3 Stradale

Mar 31st 2011 8:41AM (Autoblog)
That's because you don't listen or your reading comprehension is really low.

The next Viper is NOT based on the 8C. It is all Chrysler and developed in house but has some INPUT from the likes of Ferrari etc.

Now that that is cleared up, Zagato is an amazing team of people...

Video: Gran Turismo 5 goes live-action in Paris

Having been playing GT5 now for a few days I must say that it is incredibly hard to justify the 6 years of development.

That being said, the game isn't bad, the menus are absolutely archaic and just plain suck, the load times on install aren't bad but the install takes forever.

Graphics wise, its a real mixed bag imo, the premium cars are amazingly detailed and a couple of the tracks look incredible. The rest? They look like they took all the GT4 textures and just made them HD, a lot of them look very flat and just are not impressive.

Sound? Like most GT games is pretty bad. The engines lack any real engine note to them and certainly don't sound like their real life counterparts. The tire screeching is also subpar, and the music? HOLY GOD THE MUSIC IS AWFUL.

Weather effects? The rain is crap. It is like giant gray pixels falling from the sky and in no way looks realistic. Night racing is pretty cool though, and the day to night transitions can be mesmerizing.

Actual racing? Again somewhat of a mixed bag. The physics are great and generally feel very realistic. My only gripe is drafting is way over done, you gain far too much speed far too quickly when drafting, we are talking like 20+mph in a couple seconds, its like warp speed. Furthermore, colliding with other cars is so disappointing, you get a dull thud sound, and nothing else really, no damage, no hint of a drop in performance, christ it doesn't even really effect anything and therefore doesn't discourage you from doing it. The AI is again, like ever GT game, awful and nowhere near competitive.

Tuning is also very disappointing. You can't really put individual parts on your engine or anything, which seems like an odd decision if you are going to tout yourself as the end all be all of racing games on consoles.

Lastly, online right now, really isn't that fun, there is no real classes to race in or anything so every lobby just seems to be, make a car, max the car, and race it. Despite how much I hate Forza 3's online, it is still, unfortunately, better than what is CURRENTLY offered here.

That being said, the wealth of content in this game (and yes Kart racing is fun) is amazing. There is just so much here, but as someone said before, it just shockingly, feels rushed. If I had to rate the game, it would probably come in somewhere around a 7.5 or 8.0. It is a good game, not great. Actually I like what IGN said about the game, it is a 10/10 driving simulator mixed with a 5/10 game, at least imo.

Assuming it's power ratings and MPG ratings will be the same as the upcoming Avenger with the 3.6L Pentastar V6 than the following should be true of the V6 200 as well:

Performance (New 3.6L V6)
• BIC 283 HP (+20%) / 260 lb-ft Torque (+12%)
• EPA City = 19 mpg (+7%) / EPA Highway = 29 mpg (+19%)
• 0-60 mph performance = 6.5 sec

Spy Shots: 2011 Jeep Wrangler getting substantial interior redo

Jul 26th 2010 12:04PM (Autoblog)
The interior uses the same materials etc as you would find on the Patriot. It is still a harder plastic just not done so cheesily and cheaply. It is a big upgrade but maintains the durability (In fact I would say improves on it as this stuff doesn't seem to scratch as easy) and yes, you can still hose it out. Furthermore, from what I understand that picture is from the Sahara model which for all intents and purposes is the "luxury" version.
