The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword, in HD thanks to emulation

Nov 17th 2011 6:32PM (Joystiq)
@Lordd G It's not really upscaling that you want. Your TV upscales the content to display it on whatever resolution the panel is.

What you want is what Dolphin does, which is actually render the game at a higher resolution.... and yeah, I hope the Wii U does that too, because I've tried Dolphin and it looks amazing...I'm just not holding my breath.

Review: Madden NFL 11

Aug 10th 2010 6:56PM (Joystiq)
@Crx1990 Yes, the METHOD of selecting plays via this feature has changed to the d-pad, but the feature is identical to past versions. This and other sites have been acting like it was never possible.

Also, while on the subject of the reviewer not knowing about previous games, I thought the plan was to get a Madden expert to review it this year.

How is it that so few people know that this 'new audible' system has been in the game for years now, and in fact is slower in the new setup?

You're the second or third large site I've seen that has completely missed that.

For at least two are three years, if you hit the audible button, and right stick down, it was run; right stick up, quick pass; right stick right, deep pass; right stick left, PA pass.

It's not a new feature at all, and saying it is pretty much completely discredits your comparisons to past games.

Palm Pre breaks the 1GHz barrier with insane custom kernel

Jun 28th 2010 6:13PM (Engadget)
@Mister Warmth I haven't tried this kernel, but I believe what they do to prevent it from getting too hot while in your pocket is default it to a "screenstate" governor.

Aka, when the screen is on, it's at the full 1GHz. When the screen is off, it goes back to the stock 500MHz.

Palm files 8-K with SEC on merger, VP of PR Lynn Fox leaving

Jun 25th 2010 11:44PM (Engadget)
@Justin Ried

Well, that's what she says. But who knows if that means she was given the option to resign or be fired, or if it was really voluntary.

I mean, come on, it's a PR person, we can't believe a word she says. ;)

Does anyone even know if HP even OFFERED to keep her around? I mean, that's exactly the type of position that becomes redundant in this sort of situation.

What's next, reporting on whether or not Palm's janitor sticks around?

Nearly every app in Palm's webOS catalog is 50 percent off

Jun 20th 2010 11:05AM (Engadget)
@captaind172

But developers on webOS also don't have the competition of developers for other platforms.

It's much easier for an app to stand out from the crowd in a smaller catalog than it is on Apple, where most likely there's already hundreds of other apps that do what your app does.

Although of course, that's not including emulators on Android.
