A critic is the last person you'd ask for any form of value, from enjoyment to artistic. They're steeped in their own choice of medium, and that tunnel vision rarely allows for something outside of their expertise to be judged fairly. Thats not even accounting for probable jaded looks at what they review. Which is a form of cynicism of course.

The sequence during the first charge of the Persian army, where Leonidas takes a few steps beyond the line and is done in a single take shot, but handled with varying speeds from fast to slow. Brilliant camera work, brilliant lighting, and brilliant editing there. Just a small piece of a fantastic whole, but that sequence, and others like it show the technical skill and care that went into making 300
