@Milf Biggenson One small problem with that theory: Final Fantasy Tactics and Final Fantasy 3 are both still $16. They dropped by $3-4 during Christmas but haven't seen a price drop besides that. Squeenix either knows what they are doing or they have no clue. Either option is possible.

@pluupy I've beaten FF1 several times. It's one of my favorite games in the series honestly. Massive amounts of replayability if you so desire.

@Startbuttonnews FF2 is one of the hardest games in the series to go into blindly. The levelling system is intuitive IF you understand the basic concept of "use it and it goes up". Also if you can keep track of what your current goal is, otherwise you'll get lost and find nasties.
