Ask Engadget: best note-taking tablet / laptop for under $200?

Jul 15th 2010 11:29PM (Engadget)
@Kermee

That $200 or so could be spent on short hand lessons too for that matter (heck would it even cost that much?). Short hand + pen & paper would be far, far faster and better than anything he'd be liable to buy.

What an absolutely absurd question to post Engadget.

Creative's Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium HD gets audiophile preview

May 10th 2010 4:24PM (Engadget)
@Axilon Whilst I agree with your comment for the most part, I do have to raise a quibble over "moving into the portable media player" comment. Creative has been in that market for a long time, a lot longer than Apple or almost any other major brand. Creative was the first (I believe) to market with a portable MP3 player, the original nearly CD walkman sized Creative Nomad jukebox. Contained a whopping 6Gb Hard disk, which I swore was enough to last me a lifetime...

Zoom G2Nu and G2.1Nu guitar effects pedals offer direct USB recording

Mar 13th 2010 2:19PM (Engadget)
Wonder what the actual changes are over the g/a/b2.1u series of pedals? They've got USB input (I have an a2.1u and use it), XLR output alongside audio jack.

The old pedals were plastic and horrible, but the g/a/b2.1u series of pedals are all metal and can take a serious pounding, plus have decent foot switches. It's not particularly clear from the article what, if anything, these new 'n' versions add, other than maybe some Steve Vai presets?!

Via debuts M'Serv 2100 server with 64-bit Nano CPU

FreeBSD != Linux.

Other than that kinda looks interesting. Pondering a homebrew media PC / server at the moment. Atom or Nano based is my primary focus.

@bluestealth It's not as weird as all that. There are certain psychological impacts associated with the primary colours and how they're used together.
