To golf online, or not to golf online...

BPM,

I didn't mean to imply that there weren't _any_ 3rd party online-enabled titles for the DS, just that they are pretty rare.

Given the lack of substantial information about Wii's Wifi setup at E3, I'd be willing to bet on a slow thrid-party adoption rate like the DS.

Not that I'm complaining mind you, I think DS WiFi is awesome and I'm glad Nintendo has taken the time to develop it slowly and methodically, rather than try to rush it along. Although the firend code stuff is annoying, now that they changed when I got my Lite. :)

To golf online, or not to golf online...

As far as the DS is concerned Nintendo hasn't had many third-party titles that are taking advantage of online play just yet.

I suspect Nintendo is still developing it's online strategy for the Wii based on lessons learned from the DS. In fact I can't think of any Wii titles that have confirmed online play. Even Metroid 3, an obvious candidate for online multiplayer, will not support WiFi.

Being that Nintendo's hasn't made any announcements regarding online play for it's own launch titles, it may just be wishful thinking that a third-party launch title will support it.

From a business perspective, they may want to delay Pangya until Wii WiFi is ready; rather than be foreshadowed by the other amazing launch titles. Based on the sales of Crimson Skies for the first Xbox, being the first online title (thats fun to play) can be extremely lucrative.

Retro folk discuss Metroid Prime 3 Corruption

I think it's fair to be concerned about the Wii's online capabilities and/or lack of online enabled games in development.

Conker's was hilarious.

Unfortunately, Conker's was made by Rare, which is now owned by Microsoft. Rare is releasing Diddy Kong racing on the DS, but I wouldn't expect MS to deliver a sigle Wii game.

How do ads in games benefit gamers?

People may be upset with in-game advertising, but no matter how bad it is, it wont prevent gamers from buying the blockbuster titles like Halo 3.
