Borderlands PC DRM loyally guards street date; Pitchford unable to order stand-down

Oct 23rd 2009 12:44PM (Joystiq)
More specifically, it is the bane of all legitimate consumers and merely a minor inconvenience to pirates.

In the future, all men will be pirates, forced into it by some strange Harrison Bergeron effect. Conform and be punished. Rebel, and know freedom.

YOU TOOK OUR DISCS. BUT YOU'LL NEVER TAKE... OUR FREEDOM.

Breakfast Topic: Freestyle specs

Oct 22nd 2009 10:03AM (WoW)
As a warlock-primary who occasionally loses her mind and throws together a demented Demonology-centric whatever to see what can be plowed through solo, I support this.

I maintain high-end afflic (AFFLICTION FOR LIFE, DAMMIT) top specs and am aware of the cookie cutter destro specs, but Demo is just plain fun for steamrolling low content.

There is something deliciously ironic about blasting through Stratholme as a giant purple demon-thing.

WoW.com TCG Loot Giveaway: Sandbox Tiger and the Flag of Ownership

As I've finally gone Horde and learned to love pvp, having a Flag would be basically awesome. It'd be dashed cunning of me, as Eddie Izzard knows.

Review: Demon's Souls

Oct 12th 2009 5:46PM (Joystiq)
The reading comprehension in these comments suck far more than the article could ever hope.

The game is not being reviewed horribly. It's being reviewed as what it is, a harsh experience that demands your adaptability. If you are prepared to accept this, you will enjoy and be rewarded by this game. This is not to everyone's taste, and there is nothing wrong with that.

This is back to nut-grabbing 'hard,' in the sense of your skills, your adaptability, your willingness to learn. If this is what you want, you'll like the game.

That, and only that, is what I took from the review.

World of WarCrafts: Father sculpts son's character

Holy good god damn.

Impressed? Damn near speechless. That is art.

Breakfast Topic: What Tropes does your character embody?

Oh god damn it, I just lost an hour and a half.

I count myself lucky.

Does it get Gyromancer into the US faster? Because I need that. Now.

Patch 3.3 PTR: New weekly quests to do while raiding

Oct 2nd 2009 6:06PM (WoW)
Sadly, rather than gearing up people that could use it, we'll hear something like this:

"Badge raid speed runs, no noobs apply. 6k+ ONLY DPS, gearscore checks. Need tank/hlz, pls."

You know. Like we do now, for heroics.

Doing something nice for other players

Oct 1st 2009 7:56AM (WoW)
I recently bought a traveler's mammoth, mostly to grind towards 100 mounts. I've only done it a couple times so far, but on random days I'll load him up in Stormwind/Elwynn and run a Mammoth Express for newbies through the nearby zones. Free, of course. I only get a few takers, but they're grateful and the mammoth gets to do the other thing it can do.

(I hated those first few walks back and forth from Goldshire to Eastvale, much less Redridge)

Apparently karma is paying off. I rolled a Horde alt last week, and the very first day, while watching PvP go on all over Crossroads, a fellow cow let me get in his chopper. I never got to do that on my main!

Ghostcrawler to take a break from the forums

Sep 26th 2009 3:58PM (WoW)
He's just experiencing firsthand what it's like to run a guild and is now taking that desperately needed vacation.

I lie, it's the total opposite. If you've ever run a guild, and I mean a guild with a goal, not just a half-assed bank conglomerate with some buddies and a few randoms, then you have the barest percent of an idea what Ghostcrawler's job is like. (I have done both - run a guild and been a AGM liaison between senior GMs and players)

I hope he enjoys a nice stress reduction and comes back hale and snarky.
