Will be interesting to see which does better, this or Hawken. Sounds like Hawken is more FPS, and this is more hardcore sim.

The bottom-of-the-line Alienware ($700ish) is probably more than fine for SWTOR.

If you custom-build, spend your money on a good graphics card (Can't recommend a GT560 enough). I have a 560, i3 and 4 gig ram and it runs SWTOR and most everythign else I've thrown at it (Bulletstorm is probably the most intensive thing i'd played so far) on max beautifully.

I actually only played FF8 on PC. It was a pretty straight thru port, but the graphics definitely looked awesome. I really wish they would put 7, 8 and 9 on PC and allow hi-def, AA, etc. I'm sure it would look absolutely ridiculous on my new GT560.

I sort of miss how in WC1-2, X-wing and Tie Fighter, you actually saw your ship's cockpit, instead of just the HUD. Even if it was tougher to see, it gave the ships their own personalities. I htink with today's technology you could easily make a working 3D modeled cockpit that wouldn't be too obnoxious to fly in.

Any word on multiplayer in this game?

Did you buy the CD version? I had a similar issue, the CD copy is pretty much broken. My solution was to install from disk, then download and run the installer from the web, it fixed it for me but I didn't have to completely re-download everything.

Yeah, but say they keep 1 mil subscribers at $15/mo, that's 15 million a month. And that doesn't even include the $60 upfront cost, or the even higher cost for the deluxe premium nerd editions. They'll make their money back in under two years.
