LittleBigPlanet delayed worldwide, Qur'an misuse cited as cause [update]

Oct 17th 2008 12:17PM (Joystiq)
@Jakka:

Well, from what I recall it was EUROPE that instigated the whole African slavery trade. It was EUROPE that so many of the American colonists fled from to get away from the unjust laws and prosecution of your kings and nobles against religion, personal rights, and freedom. It was Britian that tried to unjustly "taxation without representation". It was US, the American Colonies, that declared war against the British not once but TWICE and beat them back both times. I think this qualifies us as having more "balls" than you. Learn your history, buddy, it wasn't strictly America that had slavery - everyone had a piece of that pie.

That said, Europe needs to calm the eff down. Religion is supposed to make you feel closer to God and give you a reason to believe that there is more beyond this life. For some reason people seem to also assume that means speeding up your exit from this life. No! Stop! Give everyone LBP and let everyone have fun!

Coca-Cola readying 100-flavor soda fountains

Aug 29th 2008 1:36PM (Engadget)
Sad thing is, though, that even though people with Diabetes have access to Diet Coke or any Diet Soda, they are blissfully unaware that the chemicals in said diet sodas are probably helping to increase the insulin resistance of their Type 2 Diabetes. (Note: Probably. As in, has been shown in some cases to do so.) Not even regular soda has sugar: In the US of A it's all High Fructose Corn Syrup (HFCS). Why? Because sugar is taxed and HFCS is not. Mexico and Europe don't tax sugar imports and thus their sodas contain REAL sugar.

The problem is two fold, guys. For one, you have the big companies that don't use real sugar in their drinks in the USA that is most likely leading to the downfall of that nations soda-drinkers health. On the other hand, you have customers that don't know anything and thus can't make a choice. It's like giving a child the choice between a lollipop and a broccoli stalk but not telling them that the lollipop contains trace amounts of rat poison. Not only will they choose the lollipop, but even if you did tell them it had trace amounts of rat poison they wouldn't know what that meant. All they know is this: Lollipop tastes good! But, you're not being the bad guy, right? I mean, you ARE offering them a broccoli stalk also so.. you're being fair and balanced in their decision making process!

We should offer soda but perhaps someone should regulate what goes in to those sodas. Sugar isn't bad, despite what people think! Even if you think HFCS and other not-sugar-sweeteners aren't bad either, just don't drink a six-pack a day. Just don't make it your primary drink of the day guys. Everything in moderation. One or two sodas a day is MORE than enough. Fill in the gaps with water or milk or juice.

Halo 3 reclaims top spot on Xbox Live

"Yahoo gave it props by saying people that can master it have the potentual to be brain surgens or f16 fighter piliots."

LOL! Yeah, maybe if the act of being a brain surgeon involved mashing colored buttons on a plastic controller at the right times. Too many studies to list to say that hand-eye coordination that you develop in video games does NOT translate to better hand-eye coordination in real life. To become a better brain surgeon you go to MEDICAL SCHOOL and PRACTICE BEING A BRAIN SURGEON. To be a fighter pilot you go to your countries AIR FORCE and PRACTICE BEING A FIGHTER PILOT. No amount of guitar hero mastery will make you any better at real life skills. It's like saying playing Wii Sports Boxing will make you not get your ass kicked by those school bullies. Keep dreaming, buddy.

Bungie: Ranked BTB still alive in Halo 3

Probably because the only people that can get Generals are those that are on the cheapest broadband available. ;)

On a side note, does the leveling system seem weird to anyone else? Playing in a party of friends (probably played us, we all go around with pokeballs :P) all around the same level it takes 4 or 6 games to go up just one level for some of us despite us winning 8 out of 10 games and most of going positive K/D spread and scoring flags and what not.

Yes, because obviously if it doesn't have a BR start it's shit. Learn to make use of the AR and stop bitching. If BR start is so important, go play MLG like we all know you fantasize being a part of.

Next-gen Toyota Prius: bigger, stronger, more Prius-like than ever before

I don't know about this buying a unique-looking car to show my "commitment to the environment" because, quite honestly, that sounds a bit smug. I would, however, see buying a uniquely designed car because it looks awesome. That concept design looks pretty sweet.
