More advanced in the sense of dialog, quests, freedom. There may be some funny graphical glitches, but don't tell me that Oblivion doesn't have them either.
The (now-pulled) Morrowind 2011 compilation is a fantastic example of the potential the game still has to look beautiful, maybe even modern, and, with other mods, wipe the floor with Oblivion.
Oblivion is great, but it is most definitely a step down in a lot of ways.
