DS Daily: Consoles or handhelds?

Dec 23rd 2007 9:34PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Like others, I still haven't bought a next-gen system since all the "must-have" games for me are coming or are already out in the DS. I'll eventually get a Wii and 360 though.

That said, I play on the DS the most, but the PS2 and MAME are not far behind. The DS is simply amazing. I'd say it's probably my favorite system of all time replacing the SNES.

That last girl really reminded me of Hwoarang from Tekken.

DS Daily: Your greatest moment

Here are mine:

-Finishing the hardest mode on EBA and both ouendans. I wasn't able to S-rank every song on insane, but I was able to do a perfect 300 RSG in that difficulty.

-3 stars on nsmb without a faq.

-3 stars on every track in Mario Kart.

-Doing a 14 long chain in planet puzzle league? I'm still stuck at trying to beat the computer on avalanche hard higher than level 5. I'm not sure if this is impressive since it's much easier to do chains in this version of the game than in the snes tetris attack (where going above 10 is already pretty good).

yanya: interesting about the tape, I only just heard about it now.

Kudos on ry guy getting on the megaman accomplishments. Those are really hard (I still have to beat hard on advent when I have the chance). I'm a huge megaman fan myself since I've been playing rockman on the famicom as a kid as far as I can remember.

Final Fantasy IV gently mocked by Ace Attorney

I admit, this was the most memorable quote for me in the whole game. It's quite amusing when one company references another in a light-hearted way.

I also like the quotes regarding "Blue Screens Inc".

"Wow....that sounds like a such a stable company!" - Maya

Mega Man ZX Advent has an awesome hidden stage

Nov 8th 2007 7:41PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I concur with the first post...I seem to recall vaguely a boss stage in Megaman 3.

Woodman's stage has rabbits (with carrot missiles)and tigers (with U trajectory ball thingies). Flashman's stage is all blue for whatever reason that makes Rockman walk all slippery.

On a tangent, is it just me? Or Rockman 2 is really the most memorable Rockman game ever?

DS Daily: The pinnacle of strategy

Nov 3rd 2007 10:10AM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Dual Strike was the reason I bought my DS, that's probably the best thing I can say about it.

Like many, I enjoyed Luminous Arc a lot...but felt it could have been a lot better. I mentioned before however that if you take it as it is --a light-hearted anime inspired strategy game-- then you will be pleased with it.

I'm glad Fire Emblem is coming, but I would love to play a new Tactics Ogre game as well.

Orville : Same here. These games are perfect for me. I just love the 16-bit JRPG look and feel.

ASH wins over Siliconera

Oct 15th 2007 11:37PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
I had no idea that ASH had such flaws. Rpgamer (which is quite reliable when it comes to RPGs...they've been around for a long while) has had a glowing hands-on with it, and Famitsu gave it good scores.

On the other hand, I believe Famitsu gave Blue Dragon -which apparently was a disappointment- good scores as well. I'll just assume for now that it's a must-have for strategy enthusiasts, but may be hit or miss by other genre fans.
