Stating BofA or BP should win is ignoring that (I believe) they both won in the past during their respective years of total consumer failure. It was EA's turn for milking a supposedly recession proof industry with online passes, endless DLC, and other boneheaded decisions that go against the consumer.
For some reason, few gamers tend to see how they're being mistreated as consumers. I would hope this would open some eyes.
@A Sandwich Because it's their customer base? Regardless of WHAT the complaint is, ignoring such a large segment of your customers is bad business no matter what you're selling.
@A Sandwich But no one believes in this case they're entitled to anything. They're expressing displeasure in a product and believe the promises made at the beginning of the franchise were not lived up to in the end. They're asking for more explanation or expansion.
People have a right to express their dissatisfaction with a product, or even a piece of commercial art like this. That's not being entitled, it's using your rights as a consumer.
@Warden72 No, they're showing that as a fanbase, they dislike the ending. They're not demanding anything, but expressing displeasure. The Child's Play was a unique approach to show they were serious. BioWare doesn't have to change anything, but from a business perspective with that many angered customers, it would be wise to listen.
@A Sandwich If I had spent $180 (minimum) to a trilogy of entertainment products -plus hundreds of hours of my free time- I would go in with a strong expectation. That makes it pretty important in my media life. There's an attachment to the characters and the universe.
And expressing displeasure is not entitlement:
"to give (a person or thing) a title, right, or claim to something; furnish with grounds for laying claim:"
@A Sandwich That wasn't QUITE what I was going for. I support those who want a different/changed ending. They're dissatisfied consumers and telling a company they are unhappy with their product. That's not entitlement.
I don't support throwing money blindly at a corporation for something that doesn't even exist yet. Same thing with the DLC season passes and such.
Am I the only one terrified that people are actually willing to throw money at a company like this with the assumption they'll get a new ending? What a terrifying precedent.
@baby sea tuna Nobody complains about SOCOM on PSP because Sony wasn't charging for access. In the case on certain EA titles, they were. That's why there's a problem.
