With a Q? The Joystiq Game Show - 001: Sonic Bonanza

Jul 31st 2011 11:03AM (Joystiq)
Good to hear the fun back.. Love the quiz show..

Pity it's only monthly maybe you could do a different style every week. So that if a style isn't to your tastes it can be skipped and you might still listen for the other 3 weeks.
such as ..

week 1, Round table topic show discussing a chosen topic, with interviews "Serious".

Week 2, Quiz show edition.

Week 3,Release 'Video' show, what's coming out over the next 4 weeks.. This would lead into week 4's what did you play last month show.

Week 4, End of the month silly old show.

I'm sure better ideas are out there (such as a monthly video show) this would help you stop feeling trapped in a format that is restricted by a style every week.

The Joystiq Show - 004: The Toys of Summer

The issue I have with the new style is that with only 2 major topics and a sales pitch that if your not interested in that topic your out straight away.
With the banter style many topics and impressions were offered and if something came up that didn't capture your imagination or interest you simply had to wait minutes for a shift.
Now with the new style if the topic isn't your cup of tea the podcast is tarnished for that week.
I keep coming back to the site to see what's on this week. Unfortunately after episode 1 burn I'm still waiting for a topic that makes me want to download the podcast as I've stopped Itunes auto downloading this feed.
In a crowded market place (be it free), or rather advertising space as that what podcasts do is advertise a site. There is no need to suffer.
Keep up the improvements and as soon as I see a topic that grabs me I will try it out and see how it's improved.. Here's hope that it's sooner rather than later.

The Joystiq Show - 001: Duke Nukem Forever

I feel a coke sales attempt, by releasing a lack lustre product are we to better appreciate the good old flavour of the podcast.

I'm sorry but it isn't April 1st and I'm not in the mood. I have good well grounded high brow gaming podcasts and fun weekly informal shows. This was one of the best of the latter. An attempt to become high brow just isn't in you.. Stick to your strengths.

I'm sorry but the focus on one game per show really dragged.
Don't run from the opposition because they have similar styles( and therefore change yours), just do your best and beat-em at their own game and yours.

Well once the PSN is back I'm deleting my spare account and leaving just the one possible breach account.

"Passwords will only be changeable through the same PS3 that the account was started on, or through a verified email address "

Luckily I still have my original PS3 but a few friends have had the yellow light of death.

Here's hoping this update doesn't turn out to be a nightmare as over the years people change there ISP's (E-mails and some also their PS3 for repair/replacement).

iPhone Street Fighter IV on sale for $0.99, sales go to earthquake relief

Glad to see a big company stepping up to do good in such a tragic time.

Much better than a charity song and seems more appropriate as Japan gave us console gaming for the masses.

Shame the game release had to suffer.
I appreciate that this is a big disaster and needs marking. Also there doesn't seem to be an end in sight for how bad this is getting (nuclear melt downs, towns wiped out).

Maybe a charity version release (I'd pay extra for a charitable donation as well) or a downloadable mini game to raise fund for the country as a whole would be a better way of marking this disaster.

Report: Sony could remotely disable jailbroken PS3s

Jan 11th 2011 6:04PM (Joystiq)
@Vidikron
would this accessing the Sony servers be the same issue that stopped the old PS3s working when a leap year error caused the internal clocks and network clock from syncing? Making onliners wait until the 2nd of March to use their PS3s online.

So they probably could very easily ban consoles, I suspect as every one of mine is linked to my account that the console would be barred from access to the PSN. Also that the PSN account would also be blocked. As PSN access has an user agreement.
They may even start court proceedings based on your personal details used during registration.

@The angry pro consumer gaming ga
Every soccer mom family has a father/hubby whom may not have had the budget to influence the introduction of a Xbox into the home. Also kids grow up to be Teens.. So yes every soccer mom family also has a hard core side.

Excellent single player experience for all those Kinect Xmas bundle buyers as they start to branch out and see what serious gamers play, without the fear of online noobing..
Maybe Microsoft is taking the trilogy boxset options from Sony, here's looking forward to Halo bundles soon enough.
