Joyswag: Five copies of Devil May Cry 4 (on your platform of choice)

Feb 22nd 2008 2:27PM (Joystiq)
I'll take a PS3 copy, if you please.

And as to why they all look alike. My guess is that they are all in competition to be the lead singer of a new jpop boy band. Last man standing wins.

I can't think which headline would be better if the Patiots end up loosing: "Pats Freefalling" ala Mr. Petty and co. or "No Country For Old Men" - ya know, seeing as how the Pats D is almost eligible for social security.

ESRB lists Street Fighter Alpha for PlayStation 3, PSP

SF Alpha? Really? That's like releasing SF3 when you have 3rd Strike to offer. Honestly, Alpha...not nearly as fun as Alpha 2/Gold/3. Seriously Sony (or Capcom, or whoever) make the smart choice here and release something better than Alpha.

Actually, I'm glad that somebody took the time to put this up. True, these aren't game-breakers, but I own the game and believe me, RAC:TOD is the most buggy game I have ever played!

From being stuck on the edge of cliffs and corners, to having enemies "jump/teleport" several inches, to having to manually power off my console due to some weird black debug screen that kept popping up every time I got in my ship and tried to go to the next planet - it was majorly disappointing. In fact, I've wondered if I somehow ended up with a bad disc, or something.

On the positive side, when the game plays, it's really pretty good, but it's definately not my favorite RAC game. I've been playing video games for near 20 years, and I have never seen a game with so many bugs.

Insomniac: I'm disappointed.

Street Fighter IV: first details revealed

W o w. *takes a moment to diget...then 2 or 3 more*

I've got to say that my first reaction was "What have they done?" and then a millisecond later "That's actually pretty sweet looking." In fact, the more I look at the in-game pic the more and more excited I get.

Take a moment and just focus on the image of Ryu (because the background people look like crap currently). Now, I'm no 3D fighter enthusiast, so my argument could easily be countered, but I've never seen hair or eyes that look so sweet on a 3D model - cell-shading included. And that's the first step that is so comletely and wholly necessary to be able to sell this as a Street Fighter game.

In my mind Street Fighter has always been about 2 things: crazy sweet, impossible-looking, and down right psycho moves, and the hand-drawn, anime inspired visuals. And I've firmly believed that putting these characters in the third dimension would absolutely ruin the feel of the series. It's why I play 2D fighters, because I've never seen the same level of artistry (yet) that I expect from a fighting game when it's placed in 3D.

Then I saw this image and...man. It just looks so sweet! Have you seen the cross-hatching? I don't know what the gameplay is going to be like - and to honest, if they botch that then I'll have to pass and curse them for not making it completely 2D - but if it's anywhere as fast, or as complex as the trailer then Capcom really will have hit this one into space.

Count me impressed.

Rumor: Gamespot's editorial director fired over Kane & Lynch review

Wow. PA really got the jump on this one. That's the earliest I recall them ever getting a comic up - but talk about great timing!

For all you kids out there may this serve as a welcome to the general kind of b.s. that has infiltrated the corporate soul of America. I wish I could say otherwise, but where there be bucks this kind of thing is bound to happen.

As for gamespot, good luck with that whole journalistic integrity thing. *See below*
