The origin of the Konami code, as told by its inventor

@(Unverified) Boo! Quit ya hatin' game grinch. Nostalgia doesn't need to be news!

So this begs the question: If you are in the market for a cheap PSP, why not just buy a second hand one off eBay or wherever?

I have always looked on from the sidelines when it came to the PSP. I like them but they have never had enough games that I absolutely MUST play to make me stump up the cash for one.

With games about as cheap as they will get at retail now (My local HMV just did £9.99 buy one get one free on PSP games) maybe I should take the plunge?

But back to my question: What does this have over a 2nd hand PSP? Apart from the warranty!

Buy Rage new and get free ... sewer access?

Don't be stupid. People have been buying second hand merchandise since forever! Games are no different. Ford doesn't profit from private sales of 2nd hand cars should we only be allowed to buy new?

Perhaps the gaming industry needs to develop a more sustainable business model than it has now.

The publisher has made their money they don't need to make it again off the same item!

Buy Rage new and get free ... sewer access?

Ridiculous. This is further enforcement on the belief that we merely RENT media and do not own it. The disc that you are buying is merely a licence to access the content.

Imagine buying a second hand refrigerator only to find out the crisper wouldn't work unless you paid Zanussi £10 to reactivate it for second hand use.

I rarely buy games new anymore. If I do I wait for sales or natural price reductions. I got fed up of paying £40 on day 1 and seeing the same game at £30 a week later.

Not to go all adult on everyone but I have a mortgage and MANY financial commitments that come with being in your 30s. I need to make the pennies count so if it means I only get to play a game months after everyone else then so be it.

And, I suppose, if it means I don't get sewer levels/extra guns/the second haf of the game or whatever because I could only afford 2nd hand then I'll have to put up with that too...

The Ps3 version will be Bluetooth right? Could be an inexpensive way to get a multitouch trackpad on my mac pro.

Pixelmator 2.0 announced, coming to Mac App Store later this summer

No you're right I'm not an amateur at all, I use CS5 all the way. However not everyone who produces print can afford the luxuries of Photoshop.

With the prevalence of affordable professional digital printing services and the availability of numerous DTP applications anyone from a hobbyist to a small business to a charity can afford to produce their own print at very little expense.

It's a shame that one of the best photo editing apps out there is missing a key feature despite all the recent development on it. They could at least add a Pixelmator Pro version and charge an extra $30...

Apple TV prototype sold on eBay

May 20th 2011 8:24AM (TUAW.com)
Now don't quote me on this but I had an informal conversation with someone in the know once about an iPod prototype being sold that had a similar logo with a "smaller bite" taken out of it.

He explained that all the development logos have the smaller bite logo as they are not finished yet. It's only when they are a full product that they earn their "full bite" status.

Might have been the beer talking but it sounds like something APple would do. Details details details and all that!
