I actually think the Diablo (2) system can also kick your ass every five minutes if you do it wrong. Like putting 20 points to the crow summon skill or something. Or I could be wrong and that would be the toughest crow ever :)

But the point in FFX system was that you could easily focus on the characters own class's sphere and get the necessary skills and hp/mp boosts.

PC hardware evolve constantly, so it is not like the developers need to focus in just one limited hardware and make best of it.

Then again they have to make sure the game can run in range of computers.

I think the sixaxis controllers are just crappy made. Both of my original controllers broke after 1.5 years of use and now the left sticks drift.

I bought a dualshock 3 and I'm quite worried of breaking it too, but I hope it will last longer.

That is incorrect. At least Trine and Wipeout HD have platinum trophies (though Wipeout HD/Fury was released in retail too)
