Google's Larry Page says there's 'something wrong' if your Android phone's battery doesn't last all day

May 19th 2010 3:39PM (Engadget)
I wish my Nexus lasted for more than a day. I can get from 8 am until 10 PM or so and be at 20% with moderate use. If I was to use it regularly, there's no way it would survive past 5 PM.

That's the single biggest issue with smartphones. Google should stop investing in fiber, and start investing in some battery companies.

Erick Tseng leaves Google and Android... for Facebook

May 12th 2010 5:03PM (Engadget)
Facebook is really gobbling up the talent in the SF area. At this point in the game, Facebook needs as much help as it can get to keep the ball rolling. Erick will make a great addition anywhere.

Google, if you're looking for a replacement, give me a call.

Steve Jobs publishes some 'thoughts on Flash'... many, many thoughts on Flash

Apr 29th 2010 9:52AM (Engadget)
Absolutely brilliant piece by Jobs. What an eloquent and compelling argument as to why Flash should not be on mobile devices. I'm very impressed.

I'm also going to go start working with HTML5.

iPhone OS 4 versus Windows Phone 7: the tale of the tape

Apr 8th 2010 6:02PM (Engadget)
Is there some sort of bias against Android on this site? Why would you compare the iPhone OS to an OS that isn't even on the market, when you have a multi-tasking OS that is currently on the market.

Analysts turn sour on Palm stock, cite weak sales on Verizon

Feb 25th 2010 9:37AM (Engadget)
I had my Pre for 8 months, and kicked it to the curb (thank GOD for the ETF out). It is a decent smart phone, it's pretty, but it has nothing to separate it from any other smart phone, at all. It does nothing better than Android or iPhone, and in many ways, does things worse. I waited for 8 months for the little LED ball to gain the ability to flash when I have a notification, and it never came. My Nexus One had that day one. This speaks volumes about the WebOS experience so far.

I can't see how Palm can stay in the game. Blackberry should just buy them and actually do something with WebOS. Sorry Bonno.

@Smart People Play Tuba Yea because adding it to AT&T is going to solve their problems.

Windows Phone 7 Series hands-on and impressions (updated with video)

@N900 You need to take off your fanboy pants and chill out. Nothing has been shown so far to make anyone that excited about this device except those who have conjured some magical fantasy in their head.

Nexus One 3G problems persist after update -- is it a design problem?

Feb 11th 2010 2:18PM (Engadget)
All phones see reduced signal when you hold your hand over the antennae. My Pre did it all the time. This is nothing of consequence.

And after the update, I'm seeing better coverage. I wouldn't say perfect, but slightly improved.

Palm Pre Plus MMS and GPS issues crop up, webOS update can't come soon enough

Feb 2nd 2010 9:24AM (Engadget Mobile)
This makes NO sense to me. Do these companies not beta test their devices?
