Wii Warm Up: WiiTrademark
Aug 24th 2008 10:01AM (Joystiq Nintendo)Wii Fanboy Poll: Are you and the family playing Wii today?
Nov 23rd 2007 7:53AM (Joystiq Nintendo)I know one thing, if I was dating that blonde in the pic the last thing on my mind would be playing video games!
Come play Battalion Wars 2 with us [update]
Oct 30th 2007 11:26AM (Joystiq Nintendo)Seriously, I want to know if this games worth picking up. Nintendo have done their usual and released what could be a big seller with barely a whisper of information on the title, don't they like selling games or soemthing?
Wii Warm Up: Horizontal, or vertical?
Oct 30th 2007 9:09AM (Joystiq Nintendo)It needs its stand in the vertical position, otherwise you'd be blocking an important air vent, especially if it's on carpet :-0
If you look at the stand you'll notice it's drilled out below where the bottom vent would be cradled.
Anyway, vertical for me in a nice cooling led stand that I picked up from ebay. Unlike most of the nonsense Xbox360 fans this one actually does it's job, the fan may feel weak but no longer does my console get hot on the side with WC:24 enabled as it used to with the old stand.
This guy has Super Mario Galaxy already
Oct 29th 2007 1:10PM (Joystiq Nintendo)Nintendo finds hard drive unnecessary
Oct 28th 2007 10:35AM (Joystiq Nintendo)Hard drive, headsets, downloadable Wii game demos etc. etc. We may aswell forget it because Nintendo don't care, they have their sales and that's all that matters.
BTW I do also think Wii owners should at least have the option to plug in an external hard drive. We don't all have lightning speed connections to keep deleting and re-downloading :-/
Japan to love golf in December
Oct 24th 2007 10:23PM (Joystiq Nintendo)Damn I wanted to play this with my mates back home(moved from my home country a couple years ago). The Wii is crying out for an online golf game and this one would have been perfect for it :-/
Another retirement community celebrates gaming with Wii
Oct 19th 2007 7:48AM (Joystiq Nintendo)Wii Warm Up: Voice chat
Oct 18th 2007 9:51AM (Joystiq Nintendo)I play almost nightly on Xbox Live and love having a laugh with my mates(some of which I never meet in person anymore). I only play friends and have built up a great friends list over time so no need to play randoms. It's always great banter and for sure games I still play online today such as GoW would have long since gone into retirement without voice comms adding fun and banter into the gameplay.
I've already cancelled a few of my Wii preorders that I was expecting to have voice comms(just cancelled BWII & MoH:H2) and Mario Strikers would have been bought if it allowed voice communication(at least between friends, don't care about chatting with randoms).
I know there are solutions such as using your pc or Xbox360 for voice comms but for me that's just too much hasstle, gaming should be pick up & play IMO).
Nintendo stated they would be taking online play seriously this generation, so far to me they're shooting way off the mark, the 360, ps3, ps2 & even the DS all allow voice comms, why not the Wii.
It would be easy to give voice comms an optional block(mute) within parental controls, that way people that don't want to hear other people could just select that option and carry on as before. For the rest of us at least let us taunt our mates/ talk through strategies etc.(depending on game of course).
IGN did a poll on this recently and the overwhelming majority voted in favour of voice comms(98% in fact), doubt Nintendo will listen to that though, they just do their own thing and we have to just like it or accept it :-(
Friday Video: Keep your eye on the ball
Oct 12th 2007 9:48PM (Joystiq Nintendo)Always nice to see developers putting the Wii's unique controls to good use and trying something new.
