Police investigating lost iPhone prototype raid Gizmodo editor's home

Apr 26th 2010 5:37PM (Engadget)
@Edmunn Paying for stolen item still a crime. However, if Chen is lucky the police are trying to learn the identity of the thief.

I love how they blurred out Jason's personal details as well as the items taken. Apparently it's only okay to reveal personal info when it's Gray Powell.

Finally, proper banner ads for Android: Flash demoed on a G1

Nov 17th 2008 5:19PM (Engadget)
Honestly I hate flash, and the fact that the popularity of the iPhone has caused websites to curb their use of it has been a godsend. Who the hell wants a flash-video ads playing sucking bandwidth and cpu cycles on their mobile phone?

Wii Speak Channel only available to new Wii Speak-ers

Nov 13th 2008 10:18PM (Joystiq)
I'm surprised that nobody has recognized this for what it is: another attempt by publishers and console manufacturers to turn the screws on the used game/hardware market.

Retailers like Gamestop are going to be royally pissed off. In fact, I think they we have yet to see the other shoe drop: how will Gamestop respond? I wouldn't be surprised if they refused to carry Wii Speak

German scientists think LEDs are the new Botox

Oct 22nd 2008 6:13PM (Engadget)
Whatever, man. You may be a skeptic, but I am *sold*. Not only do these LED things remove wrinkles, but they can also TURN GREYING HAIR BROWN AGAIN. And also change the color of your eyes. And the shape of your nose.

Amazon: 6 million DRM-free songs on T-Mobile G1

Sep 23rd 2008 12:36PM (Engadget)
Since the MP3 store is also a web application, I wonder if you'll be able to purchase tracks using Androids browser in addition to the standalone app? This would allow you to download tracks while connected via 3G and not wifi (Take that, RIAA!!)

Podcast Rodeo Special Edition: Remembering The Brodeo

Sep 17th 2008 9:27PM (Joystiq)
Apparently Shawn Elliott just announced on his blog that he is also leaving 1up. I wouldn't put it past him to be pulling our leg but I guess we wont know for sure until the next Brodeo podcast (due any minute now I assume).

Jury finds Taser accountable for man's death, awards $6m settlement to family

Jun 11th 2008 6:59PM (Engadget)
"I'm in UR body, killing U". Really, engadget?

I'm not the most tasteful guy in the world, but the graphic does come off as a bit tacky. Thought I was reading giz for a sec...

Rotaliana MultiBook disguises your chargers as a hardcover book

Nov 23rd 2007 2:55AM (Engadget)
I would LOVE to see what happens to the hapless individual who runs this through a baggage scanner at the airport. Yes, you do get to go on the plane, but unfortunately your flight gets rerouted to Guantanamo.

Taser parties all the rage these days?

Nov 14th 2007 10:59AM (Engadget)
It's worth noting that Tazer is headquartered in Scottsdale, AZ. So I wouldn't be surprised if the local media got duped into this story by a PR goon.

Sony Rolly: slowed down and blowed up

Aug 31st 2007 5:43PM (Engadget)
It looks like one of the ends might contain a lens. Miniature wall projector? Perhaps it does have a "display" after all.
