No 'online capabilities' for 3rd party Wii games in 2007, says SNK boss

Again: THIS IS FROM SPONG
Their credibility is completely laughable. Let's not spiral this into a 100+ comment poopfest.
Ikaruga bound for Xbox Live Arcade
Feb 14th 2007 10:16AM (Joystiq)I already have this for GC, but Live Arcade is quickly stacking up to be one of the biggest selling points of a 360, IMO.
Wii developer: publishers wary of creating for Nintendo
Jan 25th 2007 12:33PM (Joystiq)"Fact: Mario Party 4, 5, and 6 outsold (individually) RE4 on the GC .. RE4!!!
When a collection of lame mini-games outsells an award-winning, flagship game of a AAA franchise.. then you know you have serious problems."
Also fact: The PS2 port for RE4 was announced shortly before the GC release of the game.
Nintendo prez Reggie Fils-Aime: "Wii can have it all"
Jan 23rd 2007 3:44PM (Joystiq)***
GP: Of the new Wii games announced so far, which ones are your personal recommendations to GamePro readers and why?
Fils-Aime: Every one of them! Remember, I'm a marketer by training.
Joystiq hands-on: Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 (Wii)
Jan 18th 2007 10:34AM (Joystiq)And please, everyone just shut up about the whole graphics and gameplay comparison:
1) Still screens of Nintendo systems have always looked bleh, but they look much, much better in motion (they're not as gussied up as Sony/MS stills; I think it's a part of the hardware). So wait until you see it in person.
2) If this is indicative of the final product's graphics, then yes, EA is being lazy, taking the PS2 version of '07 and just working on Wiimote controls. The Wii can handle far, far more than this, and you all well know it. I'll poop on EA long before I poop on Nintendo for this, especially after seeing how nice and clean Super Swing Golf looks. (With poor frame rate, but still.)
While I'm a huge Tiger fan, this reeks of a rush job, especially since '08 is probably coming out in, oh, 9-10 months. Personally, I'll stick with Super Swing Golf and wait for '08 and hopeful online implementation.
Toys "R" Us: $100 gift card with Xbox 360 purchase
Dec 20th 2006 2:46PM (Joystiq)I think they are lying to the public and just hide the consoles during those periods of time.
** BlindSideDork -- I got FF3 and FF12 with no problems at my TRU. It's not really the store's fault if the deal is so overadvertised on VG-deal Web sites that people descend in droves to snap up the games first thing in the morning.
When I bought both games, I got there only about 40 minutes after the store opened, and the register worker told me, "Yeah, we've had people coming in all morning with these coupons."
Nintendo appeals to retired folk
Oct 30th 2006 11:19AM (Joystiq)Pre-order a PS3 for just $46,000
Oct 20th 2006 10:36AM (Joystiq)I just got married, so I've got tens of thousands of reward points on my AmEx. I typically redeem them for gift cards to clothing stores and what-not, but if I could use it straight-up for a gaming system with no cash involved, I'd do it in a heartbeat.
If you haven't cashed in points in months or years, you'd easily have 46,000 points set up. Way to overreact, though.

Aug 30th 2006 11:33AM (Joystiq)Ubisoft reveals seven Wii launch titles, including Far Cry [update 2]
Aug 3rd 2006 1:53PM (Joystiq)"So to say the least, this is not impresive. When I see the new splinter cell as an exclusive for the wii, or even games like ghost recon or rainbow six, then id care, but come on, nintendo fans stop pretending, these are the same games that if they came out on ps2 youd say they are crap."
Yes, probably. Because the whole excitement factor of playing something on the Wii is the controller, in case you hadn't noticed. I quite enjoy FPSes but can't stand using analog-stick controls. To have something more akin (and possibly superior) to a KB+M setup for a console is beautiful, and it's the majority of why this news is 10 gallons of excitement in a 5-gallon jar.
