Rumor: Playstation-based cell phone?

Sep 9th 2006 8:25AM (Joystiq)
It's obviously going to be a PSP that can connect to phone services, with a headset that will include a keypad. That, or the phone w/ PS.

An apology, and a note on hype

By the way, it's your own fault you stayed up for so long. No one forced you to.

An apology, and a note on hype

Not bothering to read the last 100 comments, I may sound like something everyone else has said, but: Joystiq owe you know apology. They gave you one, so you should be please enough. You do not own Joystiq. You don't pay to read it.

Good work Joystiq, keep up the good work, but next time, don't hype something up so much, no matter if it's the next big thing or not. =D

Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: July 9 - 15, 2006

@5:
It is because Silicon Knight's announced an Eternal Darkness sequel after the completion of the Too Human trilogy. Because the trilogy looks to be not-so-good right now, many people are upset over the fact that we won't have anything to whet our Silcon-appetite.

Weekly Webcomic Wrapup: July 2 - 8, 2006

I'm suprised the Fanoby's one is winning. Seriously. The people who voted for it should be ashamed. It was an incredibly cliche comic (heh, the irony), and even though the last frame was pretty funny, it didn't make up for the rest of the comic.

The MGS one was quite funny, I loved it how in the end Snake said "heh, that was funny". Just goes to show.

I was quite disappointed with the Dragon Tails one, actually. I usually love them, and always vote for them. This time, it was, as we say in France, "le crap". Also, the way the text stays on to the next frame annoys me, though didn't alter my decision to not vote for it. The actual content did.

The best was definetely the Crazy Buffet one. Textless humour is becoming a big thing now, due to its innovative design. Sure the whole 50's American situation being superimposed on to a video game has been explored before, but I must say, they do it so well in this one. Why? Comics are art, believe it or not. I'm not looking just at content, I'm looking at presentation. The art style is top notch, and well, just beautiful I must say. Kudos to you, Mr Buffet, may you're crazy (heh) adventures at clubs take you to more people who you will eventually criticize!

Hm, yeah, but I quite like the style of humour shown on the second panel.

GameSpot takes on the bosses

Jul 8th 2006 3:24AM (Joystiq)
The Greater Fiend Doku was a piece of cake. Ghost version and the alive one. The last boss was hard, but only because I had to beat him with only one item, the Talisman of Rebirth. Alma was one hard boss, however. Took me ages to beat her. The second version wasn't too hard, however. Wait...there WAS a second version, right? Memory a bit cloudy, I hope my friend returs me Ninja Gaiden (thats two games not returned from two different friends, consarn it!). The Worm bosses were pretty hard too, especially the dual electric worms.

I wish my PS2 wasn't dead, so I could play all 3 above games. Well, most are coming to PC anyway! And theres always hope for MGS3 on Xbox...a tiny shimmer of hope...

Text-based business game from 1982

Wow, an incredibly deep game, I'm going to have fun times with this. Screw The Godfather, screw Oblivion! This is gaming.

Sony launches EU PS3 website

Jul 1st 2006 1:46AM (Joystiq)
The entire site is basically built upon the Blu-Ray drive. Nothing more. Why? The PS3 is a Blu-Ray player at heart. That's its main purpose at life, and games is basically a feature just like movies are; because they are both mediums that will use Blu-Ray.

The motion-sensing controller, however, shows that Sony don't know what demography to market to.

Clive Thompson on episodic gaming (he's in love with Alyx too)

Jun 30th 2006 3:20AM (Joystiq)
Episodic content strangely reminds me of StellaView, back on the ol' SNES.
