AMD adds triple-core Phenom processor to desktop roadmap

Sep 18th 2007 8:30AM (Engadget)
"expected to be the world's first PC processor to integrate three computational cores on a single die of silicon."

Too bad the Xbox 360 has been using a 3 core system for almost 2 years now.

IBM moves to 65nm Cell chip production

I heard that they were planning on upgrading from gerbils to squirrels due to union issues.

Where's flOw?

Probably because Sony can't magically purchase free servers for its free service.

Batttlestations: Midway demo ready for battle

Cool, I really like these kinds of games.

I love the little guys running around on the decks on the ships, its blast on multiplayer if your friends are playing. Controls seem complex at first but after you get over the learning curve its all good, kind of like Lord Of the Rings Battle For Middle Earth II controls. It’s a lot of fun if you like these kinds of battles.

I will defiantly buy this once it comes out, plus a few of my friends as well.

Preliminary: Sony missed 2M shipment target in '06

Doesn’t really matter if no one is buying them, everywhere I checked had stock.

Xbox 360's first 100,000-point gamerscore

Nov 28th 2006 5:26PM (Joystiq)
100,000+ points and no life.

That’s roughly 10,000 points a month since launch.

I finding it surprising how may hours I spend on the 360 and I only have 8000+ points.

Xbox 360 Video Marketplace hurting, Microsoft aware

Nov 24th 2006 2:38PM (Joystiq)
I just love how people act like 5 year olds when they don’t get what they want.

The brand new Xbox360 Movie Service doesn’t work!!!!
My Xbox 360 is noisy!!!
My PS3 controller doesn’t rumble!!!!
My PS3 slot loading drive doesn’t work!!!
My Wiimote broke my TV screen!!!!
My Wii is giving me errors!!!!

I work in the IT industry and everyone one of us knows that these problems are inevitable because we can’t account for everything. If we did that either the project would be too expensive or never get off the ground, besides it’s like rush hour traffic on their servers with everyone trying it out right now.

It’s sad that most people see the glass half empty rather than half full.

Dead Rising makes 360s dead? [update 1]

Aug 15th 2006 2:21PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Surprisingly mine has been working fine, manufactured 10-21-2005 and a friend of mine has been playing Oblivion almost non-stop but he bought his about a month ago. Its sad to see these people having trouble while others doing fine, I guess I have been one of the lucky ones. The only thing I had to replace on my 360 was the controller because the down on the D-pad was not working properly. For all you people who are having trouble you may not have considered this issue, your 360 could be failing because dirty power. The 360 are a high performance piece of electronics and if it’s subjected to any form of power variations for an extended period of time it could fail because of this.

1. Try to determine what is running on the same circuit as the 360. Remove anything that might cause power surges, Air Conditioners, heaters, vacuum etc etc.

2. If you have a good surge bar not a cheap one it should tell you if the line is properly grounded. If its not try unplugging some of the devices from that circuit to see if the problem resolves its self, if not I would probably call an electrician to correct the issue.

3. Purchase an uninterrupted power supply with a voltage regulator on it. This will ensure that the power getting to the 360 is good and clean.

This is just another little tip for all you frustrated Xbox360 owners, good luck at getting your issues resolved.

Report: US July sales up 22%, DS and EA top sellers

Aug 11th 2006 5:57PM (Joystiq)
Ok just to clear up the debate, I was going for how much American people spent on hardware in July, what I felt that was not portrayed in the original report was the fact that several of the consoles are is 3-4 times cheaper than a 360 and that some of their numbers could be inflated because they are considerably cheaper.

I guess my values are a little low if that's the yearly total.
