Gareth, why do you hope the PS3 isn't required for the download service if you thought both of the previous Playstation systems were overhyped garbage? You make no sense. "I won't be buying a PS3 because I didn't like the PS1 or PS2, but I want to download PS games anyways."

Half dozen? Uhh way more than that actually. The reason console games haven't translated well on the PSP is because the PSP isn't powerful enough for all the PS2 games it tries to port. The graphics suck, and the UMD loads so much it makes loading times and battery life poor. This won't be the case with playing PS1 games straight off a memory stick. It'll be beautiful playing all the RPGs I missed out on. But if you only think there are 6 good PS1 games Andy then I can see how it wouldn't be for you.

Teddy, I would be inclined to agree with you. However...I do feel that being able to download hard-to-find PS1 games onto your PSP will have many people jumping on the bandwagon. I'm guessing you'll be able to download the PS1 games onto your PS3 HDD then transfer it to the PSP. Its just a shame people have to wait on this service, while the DS continues to shine.

Oh man, I miss my Sega Nomad!

Well all my friends and I are buying PSPs once the Sony network goes up that allows people to download PS1 games on their PSPs. That is all I've ever wanted out of a handheld anyways, a system that can play my favorite RPGs on. I have a feeling that by then, Sony will release a battery that could last maybe twice as long, and I'll be satisfied. Plus the upcoming Metal Slug collection doesn't hurt either.
