X360F interview: NinjaBee's Band of Bugs

Feb 9th 2007 3:55PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Thanks for doing this. I'm really looking forward to the game. NinjaBee's releases on the 360 have been great so far and I feel like they're pretty underrated compared to some of the more obvious stuff available.

Monster Madness gets a date

Personally, when I first saw the video on the Marketplace months back I got super excited about the game and wondered why no one seemed to be talking about it.

Ten "new" games for XBLA, new shots

Jan 30th 2007 1:19PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Assault Heroes is FAR from the only title to have multi-player issues on Live. We can cite every Konami title, Street Fighter and DOOM even in that case.

Plus, I have to mention that neither me or any of my friends have yet to have an issue with the game. I know that's not exactly a great sample to prove anything, but still.

I'd hope they'd use the opportunity to fix whatever issues were popping up before anyway. Not to mention, mini-golf isn't exactly going to push as much data around.

Girlfriend says choose me or your 360

Jan 29th 2007 4:56PM (Joystiq Xbox)
Seriously, if he knew she didn't really care for games and he still bought her Viva Pinata for a fucking ANNIVERSARY she should have gotten rid of him to begin with. Talk about a self-serving present.

It's like Homer buying Marge a bowling ball.

NES collection fetching thousands on eBay

Jan 29th 2007 4:30PM (Joystiq)
t's a stupid argument to begin with. The guy with the rookie card post had the right idea.

If you're going to collect and/or trade
something, you're going to want the physical version of that item. People aren't going to be able to trade you and you'll have zero "street cred" as it were.

If I was to buy some digital version of a
comic book, I couldn't just print it out and go to a convention and expect any dealer to pay you for it. For all intents and purposes, on a market, VC downloads are entirely worthless. If you cannot understand how a tangible item is are different from a virtual
download, I'm not sure what would convince you.

As it stands, we don't even know how Nintendo is going to handle this on future systems. I'm paying $5 for NES games (some of which individually I CAN get for $2.50 shipped... I'm looking at you, Urban Champion), but I'm not
really collecting them in a normal sense. I cannot claim to have invested anything, there's nothing to sell, there's nothing to trade.

For all we know, Nintendo won't even carry them on to the next system.

An example: Let's say I spent the $7,000 to get all of these on the VC (assuming they're ever all available). Once I have them, then what? They won't accumlate any sort of value, I cannot sell them to anyone or transfer them to another person's Wii account.

If the person putting these up on eBay simply had bought digital versions of these games, he wouldn't even be able to do this auction in the first place.

WB announces new gen Looney Tunes

Jan 23rd 2007 4:42PM (Joystiq Xbox)
'Here's hoping that no one at Warner Brothers is trying to make these classic characters "hip" and "poppin' fresh."'

Unfortunately, they've already done that: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Loonatics_Unleashed

Given the name, though, it doesn't seem like it's based upon Loonatics.

Rap song samples extensively from C64 demo

Sampling is one thing, I think this goes beyond that term by most standards.

Microsoft says "over half" of 360 buyers didn't own Xbox 1

Jan 18th 2007 2:21PM (Joystiq)
"Must be a slow news day.

Microsoft did not sell 10.4 million.

Wiki says just over 6 Million...those are NPD numbers."

Not sure what Wiki you're reading considering that 6 million number came from Q3 2006. There's four quarters in a year.

New shots of SEGA Rally Revo

Jan 17th 2007 3:47PM (Joystiq Xbox)
I don't know that it's meant to compare. I've always thought it was supposed to be far more arcade-y.
