Raids in Mexico seize 28,800 pirated games

Mar 18th 2008 1:19PM (Joystiq)
It's crazy but people pirate games and movies like crazy in Mexico. Everytime I am down there, there are tons of little tents set up with nothing but DVD's and Games. DVDs are like 3 bucks a piece and games are usually less than 10 dollars unless its a next-gen title. I asked my uncle one time why don't the police do anything and he told me that basically these people pay the cops to stay in business. If you have money in specific parts of Mexico you can do anything.

DS browser lacks some essentials [Update]

Jun 29th 2006 9:43PM (Joystiq Nintendo)
Honestly I really dont care about flash, pdf's, videos and sound files.

Most of the websites that I visit are blogs, message boards, ebay and my email.

So it really isnt going to do much. Its portable and will be a much better option than carrying my laptop around all day long getting on the net a few times. Having to find a decent spot to sit, when I can just pop out my DS and get onto the net.

E3 Vox Populi: What are your thoughts on the PS3 prices?

May 12th 2006 6:22PM (Joystiq)
I love FFXIII, but I sure as hell am not spending 600 bucks + 50-70 bucks for a game. Thats 700 with tax. I have an HDTV already but id much rather take a 360 + a Wii and have all the fun I need with those 2 than spend a crap load on a console.

Who's really going to support the Wii? [update 12]

One comment I can make, the DS had a very craptacular release list of games. So did the PS2 SSX being the best game at launch. Give it time.

IGN reveals new Revolution tech specs

Mar 29th 2006 9:47PM (Joystiq)
I personally own a Sony 57" HDTV and could careless about gaming in HD if they are going to focus more on graphics than overall gameplay. I owned a GC before a PS2, and XBOX due to the fact that Nintendo makes great first party software. Though I have a bigger PS2 library than the cube. Thing is I have some ps2 games I havent even opened up, I dont have one cube title in my collection that hasnt been opened.

And Nintendo owned the gaming world back then and Sony came and took it. They tried the same with the handheld but it hasnt worked out as they thought it may. Nintendo focused on games and Sony focused on graphics and entertainment. Thats what they are trying now. Will it succeed? Who knows but I sure will be owning a Revo before a PS3. It's no doubt that I will be buying a PS3 though. (have a secret spot for RPG's) It doesnt really matter who does what and who has this. I dont give if the PS3 has all this and the Revo doesnt have it. I just care about having fun. I'm sure that they will both offer entertainment.
