Team Fortress 2 players segregate F2P users with insta-ban
Jul 2nd 2011 1:04PM (Joystiq)(Insta-spawn, Quake sounds, disabled weapons, points mods, banned regions in maps, gorram multitudes of voting panels…).
Yes, I know you can finally filter for stock servers, but the memories still haunt me. Besides, I'm particularly bothered by the thought of new people just discovering these games, and _some_ server mods are actually pretty tasteful and fun.

Aug 11th 2010 4:10PM (Engadget)Anyway, to explain the confusion about the speculation about the possible resolution it may output, graphics chipsets have a particular maximum resolution they will handle. On embedded devices, this is actually quite a tight limit. (For example, the nice OMAP2420 with PowerVR graphics that was used for Nokia's N810 couldn't output at 800x480, so they added a separate LCD controller).
Actually decoding video is a rather different concern.

Jul 16th 2010 5:51PM (Engadget)Yeah, exactly. As a power-user with some interest in developing software for Android, I NEED a well supported device that bends to my will without needing to jump through hoops. Google's device is the only one to offer that. I'm not in the market for a phone quite yet, so when I am, if I can't find an Android device with that same arrangement, I won't be buying an Android device. Ergo, I will not be developing software for the Android ecosystem. Grudgingly.
(Oh, it doesn't help that the other manufacturers are making fucking behemoths instead of cell phones, but that's a different issue)
