TGS 08: Sonic Unleashed meets us halfway

Oct 15th 2008 1:11PM (Joystiq)
I wonder why Sega thinks its a good idea to put silly mechanics into their Sonic games. I mean, look at the New Super Mario Bro's on the DS. That game stayed true to its roots and gave players more of what we like but with new things that complimented the already present game. Sonic Unleashed looked to do the same until they busted out the lame Wheresonic. Come on Sega, think!

Silicon Knights' next game not 'Two Human,' but trilogy will continue

Let us hope it doesn't use the Too Human engine.

Dyack's defense: Too Human haters 'just don't get it'

Aug 19th 2008 5:30PM (Joystiq)
Wow. Thanks Dyack! You have truly opened my eyes. I thought I just didn’t like Too Human, and now I know it’s just that I don’t understand it. Amazing!!! I now know that everything in life that I don't like isn’t because it is sub par and truly lack luster (like I thought Too Human was), but rather it’s because I simply “don’t get it.” I will remember that the next time a car mechanic does a crappy job on my car. I will keep your quote handy and refer to it the next time I get food poisoning from a botched cooking job at a restaurant. It isn’t that the mechanic or cook did a poor job, it is simply because I don't understand it. In fact, next time a friend’s beloved family member passes away and doesn’t like it, I will make sure that I mention your concept of only disliking something because we don’t get it. I’m sure that will make as much sense in that situation as it does with your game’s situation.

Well I think that Too Human is exactly as the name implies… “Too Human.” Naming your game after a species that is far from perfect and contains many flaws is appropriate for this title. It is also funny how you mention innovation a bunch in your interview yet your game seems to be stuck in 1999. I do see all those innovations, it’s just a shame that they are just really late to the party and actually happened in games sometime in the last 8 or so years. You could of course blame the Y2K bug because that is happening next year right? Oh wait… no worries though Dyack. Everything is okay. If you don’t like what I just typed, as well as any negative reviews on your game, you can always chalk it up to what you say… it's only because you “just don’t get it.”

Wow. It all makes so much sense to me now. So Hitler must have been playing GTA and that is why he did the things he did.

What do you want to know about the 'new Xbox experience'?

So with the live party... can you ask him how that all works? Will you be able to roll as a party and voice chat together in games - just the 1-8 of you? Meaning, if you wanted to play a game of Halo 3, 8 on 8, can you simply all join up in your own chat room and chat while you play Halo 3 without needing to press a button to talk? And once the game ends, you are still talking with your party instead of joining the in-game chat? What about separate games? Can each person be playing their own single player game while chatting?
