Uncharted: Drake's Fortune images leak, Naughty Dog's latest exposed

Feb 7th 2007 11:51PM (Joystiq)
Naughty Dog's probably the most honest and skilled development company Sony's got in its corner. So it's highly unlikely that these are fake.

If I remember way back, Gabe "The PS3 is a massive failure" Newell said on an episode of the long-gone G4TV.com that Naughty Dog out of all the developers has the best grasp of the system's abilities.

I'm really looking forward to seeing more of this game in the future.

Saints Row confirmed for PS3

Seeing the logic from the 360 crowd on this one, I guess VF5 going to the 360 means nothing at all.

PS3 firmware version 1.5 (almost) ready for download

@Randolph
Since you're talking about bricks, remind me who had a class action suit against them for the fall 2006 update?

Can the PS3 be saved?

The system itself isn't bad. Sony just needs to get its PR in line more than anything.

And I don't think it's doing *that* bad in the game department either. Yes, the launch was dry. But console launches with a wide selection of great games are few and far between. Xbox 360, anyone?

Resistance multiplayer patch: better balance, more strategy

Dec 7th 2006 4:23PM (Joystiq)
The game's multiplayer is already great in my opinion. But I'm looking forward to any updates that help the team matches be more team-based. CTF and Breach can sometimes be dependent on the skill of one individual.

But seriously, I haven't had this much fun playing FPS multiplayer since the original Goldeneye.

It's great to see them approaching the "we can make it even better" approach while they're working hard on another R&C game. It truly is a sign of a committed development team.

Five reasons why Wii will disappoint

Nov 18th 2006 7:31AM (Joystiq)
Wow, the thoughtless drones have come out in hatred of a single man who actually presented a side of the story that is contradictory to the blind hype displayed by the attackers. I guess when someone ruffles the kids' feathers, they have to go into ad hominem.

Vlad, I actually would like to thank you for posting the other side of the Wii issue for a change. It's a shame that you're being foolishly attacked for something you referenced. Then again, I guess that just shows the intelligence (or lack thereof) of your opposition.

Five reasons why Wii will disappoint

You know, Vlad. I would like to commend you for being bold enough to post some criticism on the Wii. A lot of blogs and web forums have become inflated with hype and I think it's great that you're actually presenting another side of the issue.

Let's be fair here. Whenever another writer posts a link or reference to a site that suggests how the 360 or PS3 might disappoint or even speaks of a personal annoyance they have with the system, there is hardly ever the type of outrage.

Think critically, kids. Don't throw your blind loyalty to any company and attack anyone who dares question it. Although Vlad is presenting a side of an argument other than the one that is thoughtlessly followed, that doesn't mean the article he is presenting isn't news.

Rubik's Cube PS3 commercial doesn't make babies cry

Nov 6th 2006 2:34PM (Joystiq)
Not sure if I like the ad or not. I tip my hat to the use of the Rubik's cube but it seems like its aiming a bit too high.

Though I have to credit Sony for these ads. Every single person within my dorms I have talked to that has seen the baby commercial has brought it up. They're getting people talking about the ads and thus buzz is building about the PS3. Creepy as all get out, but it's getting attention.

Enhanced DVD-capable Wii coming in '07 [update 2]

@ 42 "Nintendo more than anyone, are notorius for droping 'Megatons'."

Yes, such as the fact that the production of the GPU is well underway and on schedule...

David Jaffe compares Xbox Live to Ashlee Simpson

Oct 26th 2006 9:53PM (Joystiq)
To see people trash God of War is hilarious. It didn't set out to do anything innovative, but rather make a damn good game in all departments.

One thing it did do correctly is give every game developer out there a case study in how to perfect production values. The game set out to be epic and achieved it.

I respect the heck out of the man for Twisted Metal (the first two and Black, at least) and God of War. Heck, I even have more respect for the man admitting that he wanted to kill Kratos for good. I really wish he would have done that.

He makes good points about the state of download services in games too. Though I will agree that his analogies are a little too extreme and arrogant. I just hope this blatant cockiness dies down a little.

Then again he could attempt to be "fake, hip, pretty boy" like Cliffy B. I mean, everyone wants a semi-metrosexual game developer for them to have a subconcious homosexual man-crush on, right?

Sorry, I just had to comment on that seeing that the two are the apparent prime voices for the big two standard consoles.
