To be honest I'm just jealous. With the exception of the last Winter Games I wouldn't say that Canada ever toots it's own horn and I wish we had ads like this for my country.

Actually jonwil2002 it's a measure of profitability. From my understanding of the situation the diesel cars sell at a premium over the petrol versions. Also the European prices are higher than the N.A. prices.

If I were given the choice of selling something to an American where I would gross say $3000, or I could sell basically the same product to a European and make $5000 I would happily sell in Europe all day.

Not to mention the cost of federalizing the Engines for American consumption. I don't know how VW does it but I would be interested to see the profitability comparison.

Either way we will get diesels eventually. When the market can support them with acceptable profit margins they will be here.
