USA Today's 15,000 LittleBigPlanet keys

Oct 8th 2008 2:37PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I sent in for a beta key and got one just about 20 minutes later or so. I'm almost done downloading. Good luck! Can't wait! You know I'm excited if I'm using exclamation points!!! 91%!!

Metal Gear Solid 4, Metal Gear Online screenshot bonanza

I've never seen these shots and I'm obsessive about video games. On a different note, it's good to see these have subtitles because I am really hoping the Japanese version will have English subtitles. I live in Japan and if I have to import this game 2 months before I go home, I might have to just wait it out...somehow.
Who am I kidding? I'll cave in.

Anaylst: Wii owners will want to move to PS3

Mar 3rd 2008 5:57PM (Joystiq Playstation)
I think when a kid with only a Wii wants one of the other consoles because it has a great looking game (like a Little Big Planet or better sports games), he'll ask his parents. The parents will look and see that they can get a console that not only allows little Timmy to play games, but they can also watch High-Def movies on there.
Then like Tranando mentioned, there's lots of people with PS2's that will be far more inclined to stick with Sony than to try out the 360. People like my girl cousin bought a PS2 after it slimmed down and dropped below $200. Those people are not going to be Blu Ray adopters and will see the, later on, slashed price of the PS3 and find a great value to it.
Eventually, PS3 will catch up to 360, but just barely beating them out will be seen as a disappointment and a warning of things to come next generation.

Lost Planet demo available on Japanese PS Store [Update]

Feb 7th 2008 6:52AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Sweet, thanks for the heads up, PS3fanboy. I actually live in Japan, so I don't feel guilty about this one.

@ Matt

Thanks for the info on the Japanese DMC4 language. I was just looking at it today. My Japanese friend wants to split it with me but I was going to wait to import it. You wouldn't happen to know if the Japanese version of Uncharted comes with English on it, would you? I saw it used for 4,000 yen. That's a steal in my opinion. Heavenly sword still costs as much.

Have PSN games taken off in Japan? No.

I agree, Everyday Shooter does rock...for $5. I would have been a little bit disappointed at $10.

Calling all Cars - at $7.99, disappointment. I played a total of about 3 hours at most. Nobody was online and the few times I checked, either.

This Pixel Junk Monsters game looks promising, though. Those tower defense games are surprisingly addicting. I stayed up until 3-4 in the morning once playing one on my laptop. Online leader boards and co-op just make it sound that much sweeter.

Namco Bandai: Guncon 3 NOT sold separately

Dec 7th 2007 7:01AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Never mind, I just found out it's $20 off regular price. There's only 5,000 available, too. Not sure if that's really all that sexy to anyone.

Namco Bandai: Guncon 3 NOT sold separately

Dec 7th 2007 6:49AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Anyone thinking of picking this up, it looks like they'll be selling this cheap on Amazon at 2 p.m. PST. Not sure how cheap, but not likely half price for two guns. I'm sure they'll sell it separately at some point. It'd be horrible if they wait until a second gun game comes out. Who knows when that'll be...

Here's the "hint" for Amazon's "Lightning Deal":

Gift giving Crisis? It's almost Time 4 a great video game deal.

40GB model causes PS3 sales surge

@10 leiwei

Japan DOES need Uncharted. Not so much for Japanese people, but for me. I showed the demo to my Japanese friends and they enjoyed Virtual Tennis 3 demo (I know, you probably don't remember it, I almost erased it). They also LOVED the ImaBikisou demo. It's all just pictures, short clips, and writing. It's basically a horror novel where you can choose what happens a little. Uncharted, "Looks beautiful..."
Oh, they also thought the Ratchet demo was fab. One guy wanted it for his kid, meanwhile his 5 year old son's Wii sits around collecting dust. I can tell this guy wants a PS3 instead. He hates the damn Wii.
I feel the tides turning in Japan.

Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection coming to EU PSN tomorrow

Nov 7th 2007 8:41AM (Joystiq Playstation)
What's the deal with the update that came with Ratchet and Clank: ToD? It must not have done much since I haven't heard any talk about great new features. I'd imagine it was just some tweaks in order to have the game run smoothly. Yet, the obvious thing would be to release said update to the public at large soon after. However, hinting at the advent of an update that people already have is lame. On the other hand, I don't think that 2.000 is coming out either, especially not with in game XMB and HELL no will we get Home this week.
My guess is a 1.9? (what are we on now?) that will add PSP functionality and something else along the lines of in-game custom tracks.
Hmm, maybe an open-beta of Home. I don't know, but if PS3fanboy is yanking my hairy, powerful, veiny chain...CURTAINS. That's all I can say. CURTAINS!
