St. Augustine and Jacksonville have been flipping from EDGE to 3G for me for the past 2 days. As well as Valdosta, Ga. Probably because of that nice weather system that rolled over that area yesterday though.

AMOLED black pixel = the pixel is off.
LCD = The pixel is always lit.
But AMOLED panels currently consume more power with movies and such than LCD. Unless you're watching "The Dark Knight".

S-AMOLED's are even harder to come by than regular AMOLED. It doesn't matter if they are better, which they maybe. But SLCD is going to be easier to get stock of. I see no good reason in holding back production of a set of WILDLY popular HTC handsets, just to get S-AMOLED panels. I'd rather wait until production costs are in line with current LCD prices, then I wouldn't have to pay more for a phone just to have something that has "better blacks".

Rarely do I read something that gives me goosebumps like that source article.
