China declares victory over online game addiction

Not just the name, you need to fill in your ID card number to register a game account. This information will link to the government database, if you're under 18, they'll know.

Well of course you can always use someone else's ID card. And since ID card numbers have certain patterns, you could just guess a number. Though the number will not pass the test since you don't have the right name, but I could just play for a few hours without filling any of my personal information. I tested this in The9, the WOW distributor in China. It works.

But, yeah, I guess the program could stop some addiction.

They dislikes the skeleton because they call the skeleton superstitious.

Indeed, they banned a lot of things 'cause they're not good for children. We don't actually have a age restriction for games, that means kids could play any games (and they still think games are for children), so they banned all violent and sexual contents, including those related to religion. (like, skeleton you see)

This lack of restriction also cause many young kids to get addicted to online games, and they call the online games the evil one.

I can see the points in their policies, but it's so unfair to us adults. I just wish that one day the government will understand that some games are NOT for kids and us adults also need that "childish" entertainment. But this is impossible in my generation, maybe my grand grand kid will have a better gaming environment.
