How about paying $20-$30 a month to download\rent any movie I want in SD or HD? Bye bye Netflix payment and reliance on the US postal service. Though it'll then be reliant on the wonderful support of my Cox cable as my ISP. Hmm...

Return fire from the 3DO. Perfect for two player split screen and should be perfect for live play. Been waiting for a game like this since, well, Return Fire (Return Fire 2 blew chunks).

Even at 160 Mbps, downloading a 25GB HiDef movie would take about 30 minutes. That's peak speeds over the line (users would also have to make sure their router is Gb capable or they'll be limited to 100Mbps). Better than Netflix yes. I'm guessing maybe they'll implement a buffer where you can begin watching as the movie is downloaded.

Hmm, if the cable companies can really get 100+ Mbps and offer a $30-40 a month unlimited viewing of HiDef movies then Netflix would be in real trouble. As far as HD-DVD and BluRay, some people still like to have a copy of the movie. Can't see that going away this next gen.

I don't think anyone is calling the war over. The clear leader at this date and time is HD-DVD with better picture quality, a much lower price, and more titles.

Picture quality is very important as it's the primary reason to jump from current DVD. But it doesn't appear to be a huge difference. As someone posted earlier, Betamax supposedly had better picture quality than VHS.

So yes this gives HD-DVD the lead but the the ultimate factors will be price and titles.

I definitely don't care who wins but it's funny that on the Blu-ray fanboys posts you could replace Blu-ray with PS3 and HD-DVD with 360 and it could go right onto the joystiq site.

How about including Madden versions 92-2005 on extra DVD's? I liked Madden 92 or 93 on Sega where the ambulance would come out and run dudes over for an injured player.
