Yes, the controls are a disappointment - mainly the jumping and layer switching. The game is certainly overrated on Metacritic, but it's still an incredible and fun experience overall.

Rare will fix SDTV Banjo-Kazooie text issue [update]

Nov 5th 2008 2:41PM (Joystiq)
I found the text hard to read, even in HD. The font they chose for the text is too thin and the letters spaced too far apart. I can't imagine how bad it looks in SD.

Still enjoyed the demo though.

This looks terrible.

Everyday Shooter makes PC debut on Steam

Massively overrated.

I bought this for PS3 when they put it on sale for $5, figuring I couldn't go wrong with the low price and great reviews. I was wrong. This is one of the most boring shooters around, with some very tame action and strange controls (the stick you use for shooting acts more digital than analog).

If you could play a demo of this game I guarantee you wouldn't want to buy it.

Analyst: In-stock PS3s are "troubling"

The 20GB version has HDMI, which is the version I own. I prefer to be plugged in anyway, and $600 is an outrageous amount to pay for a game system (not that $500 is cheap).

Gran Turismo HD demo available for your infinite pleasure

Dec 24th 2006 1:01AM (Joystiq Playstation)
Even though it's free, I'm still massively underwhelmed by this demo. First, the download is extremely large - 625 megs, to be exact, most of which was used for the HD intro video. The racing graphics are extremely poor, looking worse than Burnout on PS2. Yes, this demo runs in HD but the lighting on the road looks terrible and there's no lighting at all on the surrounding environment, though that probably doesn't matter much since the surround environment is mostly hills and the same tree copied/pasted hundreds of times. At least the spectators are no longer cardboard cutouts, and the background sky/mountain image is nice, but the overall graphical effect falls far short of the photorealism the series has strived for. I don't see how releasing this demo benefits anybody. Maybe it's to lower our expectations for when the final game actually comes out? Definitely not worth the download.

MotorStorm rushed to Japan (and it shows)

The game is all potential at this point. The graphics, while detailed, have an aliased "sparkly" look to them. The physics, while semi-realistic, are too floaty and the races feel like they take place in slow motion. The crashes/explosions, while visually impressive, happen far too frequently and last way too long. I'm basing all this on the demo, which I've played pretty thoroughly. Hopefully they'll tweak these issues and add more modes before release.

Whoops, sorry about the "Your comments:" thing. I messed up my original post and copied that from the email.

Your comments: I have a web site - http://www.threesixbox.com - dedicated to hosting and showing off XNA projects. It already has a little over 20 projects, most with source code, that you can download and try out on your PC (for free I might add). Check it out and leave some comments if you feel so inclined.
