12 Days of Joyswag: StarCraft 2 Collector's Edition, t-shirt, Razer Abyssus mouse and Vespula mousepad

Dec 20th 2010 9:14AM (Joystiq)
I would say sometime after the merger with Valve, and their conversion of the StarCraft 2 business model to the much more successful, and viable episodic content vision that Valve has been so brilliant at.

Of course due to the merger, the one provision Blizzard has to make, due to manpower constraint, is StarCraft 2: Episode 2 cannot release until at least a year after Half Life 2: Episode 3.

Activision: Courtney Love agreed to Cobain avatar

Sep 10th 2009 4:35PM (Joystiq)
If it was anyone but Courtney Love, I would have expected this to come off like the Kevin Smith/Tim Burton story from An Evening With Kevin Smith, with Courtney Love looking at her twitter, asking "Where's the 'tee-hee-hee'?"

But it is Courtney Love after all, and she is probably just asking, "Where's the crack pipe? I had it here a second ago, and now there's this sting in my foot, and a blood trail back to the last place I saw it. Anyone?"

Blu-ray support coming with iTunes 9?

Aug 8th 2009 2:34PM (Engadget)
Agreed.

iTunes, while they keep improving the devices it supports, just keeps the whole experience locked somewhere between 2001, and 2002 from a design standpoint. If they can limit the bloat, while improving the functionality, I'm all for a redesign, maybe even add wireless sync support.

Call of Duty: Classic coming to Xbox Live and PSN 'eventually'

Not really a surprise - after all, I don't think I've ever read a headline anywhere that says "Turns Out Activision No Longer Likes Money."

Interview: Last.fm on Xbox Live

Jul 28th 2009 1:31PM (Joystiq Xbox)
While this is an obviously great fit for the social aspect on which the 360 has built itself, I can't help but feel the disjointedness that Microsoft is displaying in their own company.

After all, many would say (myself included) that Last.fm is exactly where Microsoft looked to when they began building "The Social" for their Zune network. It does seem a little odd, then, that Microsoft would not look internally to develop a cross promotion with one of their own products, instead to collaborate with what could arguably be called competition. Albeit, this gets them off the hook for any possible anti-trust yarns to be spun, Microsoft may be missing a bigger opportunity here to move more units in the aforementioned Zune division.

Of course it could also mean that even they (Micorosoft) have a hard time believing that people would actually buy a Zune, in which case, scrobble on.

*just a note, I do own a Zune, and am on the Social, I'm just speaking from a general perspective that seems to be dominated by Applebots.

Peruse, weigh in on extended Batman: Arkham Asylum footage

Apr 7th 2009 7:45PM (Joystiq)
I feel the same way, but I'm going to suspend reality and belief while playing this game, just the same as I did playing any of the Splinter Cell games.

After all, how many hallways just the right width for you to pull a Van Damme split leg stance really need to exist? Or even really exist?

Gargoyles are the new narrow hallway.

GDC09: Actual Batman: Arkham Asylum gameplay footage, no joke

*checks date, sees it isn't April Fools*

That game, even if there is some repetitiveness to it looks like it will make me do the same thing I've done in the Splinter Cell games, which is go slow, and bide my time to get the cool takedown.

To echo Shimrra's sentiments, that is the Batman game I have been waiting for.
